Get to know some of the history of the area. There are a lot of exhibits in this museum. It also tells about the settling in this part of Alaska. Very interesting and informative place to visit.

If your interested in history this place has a collection of articles that a local man collected and his daughter set up as a museum for all to enjoy.

If you're in Haines and are interested in history and native culture, this little museum is worth an hour or so. The collection is nicely presented and the employees friendly and helpful.

Pleasant surprise awaits you at the Sheldon Culture Center and Natural History Museum. Nice displays and discussions of First Nations groups and history of the area. Some spectacular objects on displays and nice maps depicting the local history.

I enjoyed browsing at my leisure through the exhibits and reading the history . The weavings were of particular interest to me. The depth of the stories were of interest.
