Super fun experience to drop in for a beer and put a dollar on the wall! Great time hanging out, bought some t-shirts and left a few dollars and a punk rock sticker! Bartender was fun and friendly and beer was normal priced!

This is your standard dive bar, but it has a lot of character! It is a cash only landmark spot in the town of Homer. Dollar bills cover ever inch of the place. Bartenders are quick , friendly and pour a mean drink. Locals and...More

My husband visited the Salty dawg when he was a teen living in Alaska with his Dad. His cousin remembered visiting in the 1980's. For them it has just gotten quirkier.

After being on a fishing charter all day, right by where people disembark is the Salty Dawg a place that is good to stop by for a drink and take in the "Salty Dawg culture". As everyone has stated, dollar bills are everywhere with messages...More

This place is unique. Even if you don't drink, like me, you can get a taste of how many visitors this place has had. Dollar bills and other assorted decorations adorn every square inch of wall and ceiling. All the other wood contains patron's carvings...More

Great bar with a fuzzy dollar feel on the inside......personalize and leave you door on the wall.......they say they clean the walls periodically and give the $20,000 or so to charities.....great concept

Words are hard to describe this icon. The entire interior is covered with dollar bills, names carved into tables, bras and men's boxers, etc. The 'salty dog' is grapefruit juice and vodka with a salted rim.

Very friendly staff. Dollar bills everywhere. Hanging from the ceiling, on the walls, everywhere. A small, but very busy establishment. I didn't stay there to eat.

Stopped for a quick Alaskan Ale, very friendly bartender, she definitely knew her stuff. Besides being an optical illusion inside it is just fun to talk with the other patrons. Don't miss stopping in, and leaving a dollar. They collect and give to local charities....More

I don't know about kids. Didn't see any when we were there. No food. It is definitely a dive bar.
