People are friendly, great little shops to venture into and a great variety of food is available. You can charter a boat or plane ride or just walk along the beach and look for shells and interesting rocks. Something for everyone!

Homer spit is both beautiful and industrial. It is a working fishing port as well as a scenic spot for tourists. Accept the combination and take it for what it is. There are lots of places to eat and drink in, plus knick-knack shops.

Drove to Homer from Anchorage and it was a long drive but well worth the trip. Would do it again just to see the scenery. If you don't mind driving and are in Anchorage or near Homer make the drive and take in all the...More

Good question...the Homer Simpson joked are too easy. The Spit is a several mile long narrow peninsula that just into Kamach bay. It's a hodge podge of Asbury Park, Santa Monica pier; some of it is industrial ugly, there's gift shops, eateries, and lots of...More

Lovely local life from the fishing industry to local shops, restaurants, fishing and transportation. It's well worth the walk to see what's going on.

Homer's tourist site in town. Many little art shops, tourist gifts, and resturants. If you like to stroll and shop for trinkets this is the spot. We ate at Finn Pizza - excellent, wood fired pizza with Homer Brewery beer - and the Little Mermaid...More

Lots of gift shops and fast food places. Check it out but eat in town! The shops sell a variety of goods but seem slightly expensive

The spit has a wide variety of shops and experiences. It is about 5 miles long. Rvs can park there for $5 per day. There are also fish packing sites for the fish you catch and want to take home.
