10 Day Alaska Adventure

Excellent source of information, exhibits, films, and trails down to marsh to see sand cranes. We went back second time. Great for all ages.

The Island and Ocean Visitors Centre is an interactive museum and information centre. It is well set out with interesting displays that attracted the children. They loved answering questions and seeing if they were correct. Leading from the centre is a boardwalk to the beach. There are many different birds to be seen and even the possibility of a moose.... Islands and Oceans is a small center with a few displays. They tell the story of settling here in Homer and the hardships that followed. They also have a trail that you can walk easily that will take out on the slough

This interesting museum covers human and natural history, including damage from wars and takeovers, and wildlife refuges and restoration in the Aluetians, some of which seemed like cool places to go visit. Takes 1-2 hours.

This center was well designed and had lot's of information about Alaskan history and it's waterways. Also a nice walk down to the water where some big cranes hang out.

It was a nice stop to take a break and get out of the sun and to use a nice bathroom. Not much here, but it was nice to read about some history.
