The visitor center is a great way to start or finish your hike to view the Mendenhall Glacier. The facility was very clean and the staff was friendly and informative. I would encourage travelers to complete the hike if they can the views are gorgeous.
When I first visited Mendenhall Glacier, there was no visitor center. Today, visitors to Mendenhall can talk to rangers and experience interactive displays about the glacier. The Visitor Center adds a nice interactive aspect to the Mendenhall experience.
