This nifty little tram is right near the dock so all the cruise ship passengers can take advantage of it. The view from the top is wonderful and there is an excellent gift shop, also. I highly recommend this tram!

We took the tramway up Mt. Roberts and hiked up about 1/2 mile. It was a bit rainy when we went. But we decided to hike down the mountain instead of taking tram back down. Great hike! Someone we passed told us that if we...More

Unless you are visiting Juneau and have nothing else to do, then make the visit to Mt. Roberts via the tram. It is $33 pp which is in my opinion, costly given what is up on top. The tram ride is no more than 5...More

We were looking forward to a nice day and walking the trails to see the views. It was a rainy day and there was nothing to do at the top but see the eagle which was OK. And the views at the top were non-existent...More

While seeing the eagle at the top I was very disappointed in this excursion for the price of $33 American. The description of the excursion provided a lot more detail than I saw. I was expecting a bit more of a narrative to learn about...More

My dad and I rode this tramway as part of a cruise excursion. We were surprised at how steep the incline was! I was definitely fighting my fear of heights on this one. At the top, we watched a film on Tlingit culture, visited Lady...More

This was the one thing we wanted to do in our very limited time in Juneau and it didn't disappoint. You are whisked up very speedily above the town and there are fantastic views when you get to the top. Plenty of walking options and...More

Yes, it's an amazing view of Juneau and Gastineau Channel, even in the rain (and expect rain), but I personally think it's a bit pricey ($33/person). Apart from walking an irregular dirt trail or two at the top, the primary activity is to try to...More

Lovely ride up in the tram. The guide on the tram was very informative. Nice smooth ride. The views are awesome. Walk about a bit, and see all the views, the eagle sanctuary is pretty cool

The Tramway provides great views of Juneau and the mountain ranges. We hiked to Glastinaue for even better views. A must do in Juneau!

No reservation. Just walk up and buy a ticket. You can see the tram entrance as your ship pulls in. I walked off my boat and was at the ticket office in 5 minutes. Based upon your time window, you could hike back into town... More

The tram operates from morning to evening. Ride up is just a few minutes--down the same. Not sure of exact operating hours--I was told I could come and go and take multiple rides up on one ticket.
