This was a cruise ship visit tour - about 5 hours, with a photography theme, and 2 hours+ on the water. For photographers the conditions were not optimal, and the whales were languid, but they, and other wildlife were seen at close quarters in a...More

First off we went on the photo safari (Whale watching and Mendenhall Glacier). They keep the group small (we had 9) and it was nice. Our guide was Brian Doyle. He comes with an extensive background as a professional photographer and knowledge of the area....More

In 2009, I enjoyed your Photo Safari very much. Next year, I would like to do it again and was wondering if I could skip the hike portion at Mendenhall and spend more time in the Visitor Center?

My husband and I will be traveling with my elderly parents. They are only able to walk short distances so we have rented companion chairs to make the cruise easier for them. Are the trails wheelchair accessible/capable for pushing wheelchairs? Also, if we go whale watching, is there somewhere to stow the folded chairs?

I know our cruise line delineated which excursions were and were not wheelchair accessible. Otherwise, I would check with the company directly about accessibility.
