The mansion looks a little like it was modeled after Mt. Vernon. The lack of obviuous security was a little surprising, but it may be subtle. You cannot tour, so it is interesting to see, but not a huge deal if you can't.

It was great walking around the building, but could not figure out if there were tours of the inside. Would have been better with a narrated inside tour.

This is a very attractive house with nice views. However, there are no tours. The sign on the door says, "private residence".

By all rights, the place where the Governor lives should be a nice place. The Alaska governor should be very comfortable here. Understated, but elegant.

Went to visit because of Sarah. Wanted to see if you could see Russia. Surprised another politician lie. It is a nice place. Not far to walk from the cruise ship terminal. Worth the look if you like homes and wood work.

I recently did some minor restorative work on the Gov Mansion and got to go inside quite a bit. Very nice woodwork to be seen inside although this is not, by modern interpretation, a mansion. It's more of a nice old house. I still recommend...More

The Governors mansion is just a short walk from the pier and lovely home. It is situated in a neighborhood that is really pretty.

I was amazed by the fact that I could have walked right up to the front door and knocked. So glad I walked to see this beautiful landmark.

Beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood. I would say not open to the public, but a private residence for the Governor and family. Large Totem Pole by the front entrance.

After we left the hotel we went to visit this site. Actually it's in a quite calm part of the city and maybe it's not very suggested to come here just to see this mansion. Anyway, we passed by again with our city tour of...More
