I enjoyed my time at Creek street lots of little shops and people. It is cool to watch the salmon and sometimes you can even see a little seal there

Whilst on an Alaskan cruise we stopped off in Ketchikan and were very pleasantly surprised - at last somewhere with a bit of character! Juneau and Skagway had both seemed like wall to wall cruise ships with loads of people and, of course, shops. Ketchikan was a pleasant surprise and we spent a lovely few hours wandering around the streets.... More

Nice views and love the locally crafted items. Easy to get to. Suggested by cruise ship and another local tour

This area represented the old red light district of the city during the "Gold Rush" era of the late 1890's. Dolly's house is located here well preserved historical site.

This piece of history is hard to explain, but very interesting. The houses, the stories and the walk along the river are well preserved.

We spent a few hours poking around the stores. There was some fun stuff to check out. We bought one of those Alaskan Ulu knives. I will say I love mine. The one we nought had a bowl too which is wonderful to chop in. Thinks like walnuts for baking etc. the board walk around was easy walking and lead... More

This is an old brothel area of Ketchikan that has been maintained very well. It's beer turned into mostly a boardwalk shopping area with small craft stores, mostly selling Alaskan goods. It's good for a walk and a unique area for some souvenir shopping The street does start with the brothel museum which may be worth a trip, but we... More

There are a lot of shops in this area. We tried to make sure we were in the locally owned ones. We got salmon products and some wood carvings. You can rent poles and fish in the salmon stream running through.

We did not have too much time to explore Ketchikan as our cruise ship was leaving port early that day but we did manage to take a stroll through the shops! I had been there before and wanted to revisit the area! Interesting and well worth the trip, if not for the history certainly the shopping!
