Enjoyed walking around looking and learning about the various totem poles. They each have a story to tell and it’s fun to imagine what the particular person was like. Lots of symbolism, colors, and very detailed carvings. Would love to return and take more family.

It is in a nice walkable distance from the pier it was very nice with lot of water bodies around looks stunning with a nice garden and a feel of a forest

I'm local and I make a point of taking all our visitors here. Like Alaskan history, old cars, old guns? Bit of everything Alaskan here. See something new everytime and enjoy it, even though I've been many times. This gift shop and Ray Troll's for Tee shirts are the only shops that I recommend or buy anything from. Not the usual made in China cruiseship garbage. If you have time, the City bus will run you out there for $2. Also a State park and a Pot shop nearby if you are interested. Well worth your time.…

We had seen many pictures of Totem Poles, but never knew the story behind the poles. Each pole has a different story.Some stories cannot be believed. Also each pole is carved out of one whole bark of a tree. Beautiful carvings, very patiently done.The carvings are all painted very bright. Learnt so much from this visit.…

We visited Potlatch Park as part of a totem and wildlife tour. Jack our guide was a First Nations person and was great at explaining the meanings of the Totem poles and how and when they were carved. The poles are found along cute paths through the trees and have clear information signs explaining each one. There is also a clan house that has been built to show us what they looked like. The work that has gone into the poles and decoration is amazing. Seeing the carved totem in the carving shed was great and is surrounded with interesting pictures of it being carved along with displays of traditional tool. The gift shop is huge!! And also contains a gun museum which my son and husband loved. They provided free cookies and hot tea and coffee to visitors too. There are also a range of old cars around the site that the men were oohing and ahhing over. Definitely worth the visit and only ten minutes north of town.…
