Admission of $3 was more to support their expansion potential than for the exhibit, which was rather small. But they had many interesting artifacts in excellent condition. If you were interested in the regalia of the Native Peoples, tools, etc. it was well worth it.

My husband and I found the Tongass Historical Museum to be very interesting. It had history of the area as well as information about totem poles. The museum is not real large so was easy to walk through.

A great first stop when in town, especially on a rainy day. We learned a thing or two in this nice little museum. Glad we stopped in here.

We spent about one hour in the museum and it was worth every minute. The staff are very knowledgeable and are interested in your questions. it was only $5 to get in.
