My husband and I were on a cruise and decided - last minute - to hop on a sea kayak while in Ketchikan. The people at Southeast Sea Kayaks were friendly and very helpful. We saw 2 bald eagles SUPER CLOSE and a seal once...More

We were so glad this tour took us away from the docks. We had a wonderful few hours on the water with a small group of six and an awesome guide, Shauna, a Ketchikan native. A seal swam right up to our kayaks, and we...More

Fortunately we were blessed with a beautiful day! That is - it didn't rain! Our families ranged from 10yrs - 51yrs and everyone had a blast! There were 13 of us in total and we were thankful we could all go together. Our guides were...More

We chose the Orcas Cove kayak trip and my group of 4 were the only ones scheduled for the 10am trip. Customer service was great - I had called a few weeks prior to see if we could make the 10am based on the arrival...More

Took the Orcas Cove trip. The crew were professional and the kayak trip was peaceful and relaxing. The scenery is beautiful. Our guide was attentive and showed much of the wildlife available. Many Bald Eagles out that day. Loved the smoked salmon lunch.

Orca's Cove looked magical in the rain, especially with the mist up against the mountains. Jack was very patient with us even though we were beginners and pointed out starfish, jellyfish and other wildlife. The smoked salmon feast was very welcomed at the end!

It didn't matter that it was raining. Adam and Chris and Greg we're the most helpful and pleasant people, full of information and energy. The smoked salmon picnic and hot chocolate after the trip were a dream. I would highly recommend this trip for any...More

This really was the highlight of our cruise to Alaska. It was so nice to be in a small group, NOT on a cruise excursion with a ton of people. Ryan and Brittany were delightful. We saw a grey whale and a group of 6-8...More

The staff was very friendly and it worked well for our group of 5 -- with 3 of us never having been in a kayak before (kinda terrifying, actually) :). Jack, our guide (whose name is not Gabriel) was very supportive and helpful. Logistics were...More

We had the misfortune of landing in Ketchikan on one of those rainy days that was accompanied by high winds making the kayaking trip too dangerous. We were terribly disappointed, but Southeast Seas offered us a 3-hr guided tour of the area for half the...More

Thanks so much for being game for the alternate tour Nancy. We hate having to cancel kayaking so we try to make sure that we have an alternative available. Our guides love sharing Alaska with visitors any way they can!

Ok Southeast, I am nervous about the orcas. Knowing that the past doesn't necessarily predict the future, how often do you actually see Orcas.

Have answered my own question with online research, which I should have done before of course. Booked for a July trip and very much looking forward to it!
If my husband and I have never, ever kayaked before can we do this? I really want to but do not want to waste my time if we physically cannot do it.

Yes. Anyone with an average level of physical fitness can join the kayak tours. You don't need any previous experience, just to be an active person with a spirit of adventure. The guides will teach the basics and the pace is... More
We are in port from 7am to 3pm. We would like to do the 5hr kayak and plane trip to misty fjords, probably your 8am start? Would also like a quick peek for photos at creek street if time allows (before or after?). Do we have time for this? Celebrity cruise is July 24. Where do you pick up and drop off?
