Small but interesting museum

This museum has many old things used in the early fishing days in Petersburg. A must see if you are visiting Petersburg

A small center but a small town. A couple videos to watch, helpful staff, lots of information including lots of recipes for all the fish you can get in town. Some really great examples of some of the crabs in the area- some I'd never heard of.

Open 7 days a week. Make this your first stop. Don't miss the short videos put together by the forest service. Can be purchased for donation. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable.

May 2003 Petersburg its off the beaten track, but its well worth the visit to go. I stayed here for a week off hiking and used a small bed & breakfast as a base the location is just well worth the stop, you don't have the cruise ships stopping here so you have a much nicer feel to the city.... The volunteers and staff at the visitor's center always have great suggestions for things to do in Petersburg. There is a great collection of information that the Forest Service makes available -- from lichen identification brochures to trail guides.

While the fishing and location was good, the overall experience was poor due to poorly maintained equipment, mediocre customer service and a menu that did not include any fruit or green vegetables. Our outboard motor failed on three separate days, the trolling motor could not be lowered without disassembling the locking mechanism and requests for a new boat were denied.... More

Thank you to the lady who was on duty the day we dropped in for some information! She was so friendly and obviously loves her town! We left with a good map and lots of ideas on how to fill our time and things to see in and around Petersburg. We followed many of the suggestions and had a great... More
