Beautiful views of the mountains and Mekong river . Brief visit to the viewpoint , 40thb to be driven by kindly fellow to the viewing area . Pleasant little excursion , the hills and mountains seem to stretch for miles , it would be beautiful with mist rising .

I really enjoy field trips to Phu Thok. It is a great attraction to take visitors to Loei Province. Really spectacular when the fog is blanketing the valleys between the mountains.

We arrived in the parking lot and then took the mandatory 25 baht songthaew (pick-up with seats) to the top. Nice views, but we slept in so the morning fog had dissipated by our arrival.. On that day, it was a little hazy which precluded getting the best landscape photos. Nevertheless, it is a pleasant, low key attraction and we enjoyed it.

If you're planning on visiting Chiangkhan, I recommend that you should go Phu-Thok.
Leaving Chiangkhan no later than 5.30 AM. You have to take a Tuk-Tuk 100THB/Person, then take a car call "Song-Taew" to the top of mountain for round trip.
