It is the beautiful sanctuary to see when you travel to Chau Doc town. Fresh air, birds and different kinds of Melaleuca plants

Stunning, peaceful boat ride here, we got see large birds nesting in the tree tops, spectacular sight (hundreds of them)! The calm sound of the water as the driver poled us along at a leisurely pace was soothing and our whole day was awesome. Contact...More

Went here on motor bike tour with a local guide (Xuan Mai) and her husband. They drove us through the countryside along the canals which was lovely. The bird sanctuary was wonderfully quiet - so peaceful - only saw a few other tourists. We had...More

You can take a motor boat first to go into the heart of the mangrove, and then a rowing boat to quietly watch the birds; amazing activity with kingfishers, snake birds (looks like a cormorant) and herons essentially, and also another species that makes such...More

Nice enough activity but very much a busy production line. As independent travellers we missed the crowds but they were both 2 minutes in front of and behind us. The trip consisted of: Large (10 seater) boat trip to Small canoe type boat rowed which...More

This is a beautiful area, so green and full of bird life. It was so tranquil being rowed around the forest. I believe this area is also called the flooded Forrest. Definitely worth a visit.

Unique place in Vietnam! Very quiet, you can see and hear the birds singing in the forest, on a rowing boat. I have been to many places in Asia and never saw anything similar. A must!

Not much variety of birdlife but ok for a short nature visit. To visit the 'sanctuary' from the bus drop off you get about 30 people to each long tail boat. Yes the noisy, smokey long tail, hardly quiet national park like. After only 5...More

Hello! I plan my trip to Vietnam in December and would like to visit Tra Su national park, because birdwatching is my hobby. I'll arrive to Chau Doc 16th of December in the evening and would like to go in Tra Su next day very early morning, when the birds are more active. Should I book a tour for the morning 17th of December ahead or I can just come and buy a ticket? When the first tours start in the morning?

you may watch the birds as long as you want, there are several stopps and you can walk trough the park for hours on its path :))

I'm trying to decide whether to go to the tunnels and wildlife rescue centre in Cu Chi, or to Tra Su bird sanctuary. Which would you recommend? Also it feasible to go straight from Cu Chi to Dalat? If so, what is the best way? thanks :-)

I would recommend tra sua. This is a special and beautiful place. If you travel from Cu Chi to Dalat , you can use FuTa bus, around 7hours
Hopefully you can help me. I live in Vung Tau and my friend has a parrot (very beautiful) that he keeps in a small cage and pays no attention to. I see that the bird sometimes has no food and appears to be completely depressed and craving for any kind of attention. I have suggested releasing the bird into the forest of my pagoda in Dinh Mountain but I'm concerned that it may not have the ability to live in the wild or would once again be recaptured and once again sold. I would take on the responsibility for the bird myself but I live in a small apartment and am not allowed pets. I hope that you might be able to provide some information on how I can handle the situation and save a great bird. Your earliest reply would be appreciated. Dennis Raquet
