My husband and I came up with a new name for Sapa: the Whistler of Vietnam. If you’ve ever been to Whistler, BC Canada, you’ll be familiar with the touristy downtown area that seems to be 100% catered to consumerist tourism. Sapa is no different:...More

During weekends, it can be quite noisy as they seem to have lots of activities going on with loud music. But, it seems like a good gathering place after a long day.

This is the town square and is filled with activity. This is where the local people mingle and children play. A good place to take a walk or just sit and soak in the local culture.

This is a good place to walk around and see the local people! It is also closed to hotels and nice restaurants so you should stay in this area for your convenience!

It’s rainy++++, but as we come from a desert we like that. The town is et and seems to be changing, towards mass tourism and we’re not fans of that. There are some jewels here and the surrounding countryside is beautiful but the town itself...More

Sa Pa has so much potential given its beautiful nature and views. However the “town” gives it all a bad taste: trying to sell something to you on every corner of every street. And it basically looks like a construction site. Kids not older than...More

There is celebration when we visit and people selling local handcraft during weekend. They also perform local traditional songs and dance while kids dress with their traditional tribe cloth. You probably want to pay them with small amount of money for the picture that you...More
