Walked up steep rough path from car park to the area with flames erupting from the rocks which are constantly changing. Good footwear is needed & in our we should have had waterproof coats. Ended up in a thunderstorm and walking back down a raging torrent which had been the path. It all added to the excitement!

The hike up is quite beautiful as you walk through the trees up the mountain. It's not far, but contains a lot of steps. Don't expect massive fires breathing from stones as they're not high, but it's still cool to see and an odd phenomenon. I would recommend doing it if you're in Çirali

From Olympos Ruins you have to go by feet about 1h to the entrance (6 TL), then 20 min to the Chimaera exactly. Evening surprise in low season: no public transport to the road D400 at 19.00 and later. Thanks freindly turkish drivers and autostop in generally, this coudn't be a problem))

After a 10 minut drive from Dionysus lodge and a 20 minut easy hike you come to Chimera. It is a very nice place to enjoy the sunset. The phenomenon is very interesting.

Early may was good to visit but still a lot of people with music, food drink which to me seems a lot more suitable for beach party than forrest at night. However afret reaching the upper flames the tranquility was restored and if i had have sleeping bag i would sleep there watching stars and flames in the ground. Magical... More

This is a very good hike - approximately 30 minutes from Cirali to the top of the Chimaera. The hike itself is medium and depending upon the energy level may require one to rest 2 to 3 times on the way. Best time is to go around sunset time and stay at the top for 15-20 minutes until a little... More

this was a fascinating sight at the end of a long day of walking . But if you are walking down on the Lycian way to Cirali be warned - the steps down to the car park really do go on for ever :-)

The hike to Chimaera was a pleasant experience. We were on a road trip from Izmer to Antalya and Cirali was our last stop for a relaxing last 2 days before our flight to Cappadocia. This hike was perfect for our stay as we did not want to do any major sightseeing and just wanted to relax by the beach... More

nice walk through the night. Not too difficult. Take a torch with you to find the way easely. Very Special with the full moon.

Wonderful flame and very beautiful sky at night as it filled with many stars. Very challenging to walk and climb there at night, but once you arrive and see the Chimaera, it's really worth it! Just make sure to bring a torch with you and be careful with the steps as they don't have lights aside from the Chimaera itself.... More
