These are an amazing feat showcasing how the rulers and richer citizens of the Cavian Empire were set to rest. Very impressive and can be seen from both land (Myra) and on a Dalyan river trip.

You get a good view across to them from the town side of the river but most folk see them as they ride past on boat trips. The ones high on the cliff face are not accessible. I believe a local lady will row you across to access the graveyard below them. Apparently there are around 170 such tombs in the area. Of course they were never designed with future tourism in mind and would have been constructed using wooden ladders which were later removed

One of Earth’s special places.
Despite its geographical obscurity it’s well worth the journey to see

I first saw the rock tombs in 1995 and always vowed to come back to Dalyan (finally.. 28 years later here I am!)
I find the tombs almost hypnotic, whether you walk down the path or take a boat to the Delta, they never cease to amaze me, they're also beautifully lit up at night. I'm sure someone can recommend the best restaurants to take in the view but I just love looking at this incredible bit of history.

We went past on the way to Turtle beach. Awesome to look at, shame you can’t go up there. Relaxed boat cruise along river after a lovely lunch 🥗

I caught the rowing boat over the river to where Gözde Cafe is, then turned left and walked along the lane for a couple of minutes until I got to the cemetery gates. You can walk in and probably get the closest view.

The only way to get to these is up the Dalyan river, and what a trip, they just appear before you, amazing, goosebumps!

Wonderful sight to see, such history. We saw from a boat trip along the river that passes directly in front of the tombs.

We could actually see some of these tombs from our hotel room in Dalyan, but the best view is definitely from a boat on a river tip to Iztuzu Beach. They are very impressive and fascinating to see!

You can only see these tombs from the river, I believe...you can't get much closer. Boats from Dalyman past the tombs are every 10 minutes or so, and will stop by the tombs for photos before continuing to the beach.

Hello, we are thinking of getting a hire car and visiting the tombs on our trip next month as we quite like to be independent. Would you recommend doing it this way instead of a trip? We have a baby and young boy, would we be able to take a push chair do you think? Also did it cost a lot? Thank you for your help :)
