About
Snoopy Island, because it resembles the cartoon dog lying on its back, is a small rocky island floating off the coast of Fujairah in Al Aqah. You can try to swim to the rock from the private hotel beach (for a fee), or the public beach side—though the latter may only be possible when the tide is low and waters are calm. You can book a snorkeling tour of Snoopy Island which may also include other water activities like kayaking, diving, and standup paddleboarding in Fujairah. – Tripadvisor

Visited with the hope of snorkelling- however we didn’t want to pay to go on the beach. Not able to swim from the free beach next door as the sea was very choppy. That said the family had a good time wave bashing- all be it a bit risky at times! Not for small children at all!
Was also nice to have the cooler temperatures and cool sea- refreshing after a week of 40c in Dubai
Long drive from Dubai but great infrastructure throughout and the sunset over the mountains was amazing

My friends and I drove all the way from rak to the island just to be rudely greeted by the person at the gate. He also said only “couples and family” can access this area. Which I find is absurd as this is not mentioned anywhere on the internet and besides I feel it’s just weird that they make it this way. Truly disappointing.

I could not fault this resort. The food was fantastic and the staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms were spacious and modern with beautiful soft towels. The infinity pool was brilliant and a cocktail bar ( alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks ) surrounds it - so you could have a dip and a drink overlooking the fantastic snoopy island. You could have a massage on the beach which was like heaven ! The sand is silky and soft and the sea clear as a bell. Lots of snorkeling and swimming :) It is a family friendly place . I had an apartment overlooking the beach and the sunsets were stunning. It felt like heaven on earth and I would highly recommend :)

Amazing place to swim and snorkel. It could get a bit crowded in the evening though.
No need to go through the hotel and pay the fees. You can just go from the east side of the hotel and just swim to the island.

A small island 300 meters from the beach. We got there safely by swimming. Coral reef, many different fish, not as bright as in Sharm, but enough. On the reef live 3 sea turtles, several cuttlefish (it’s very interesting to watch them and oh, horror, two reef sharks. Swimming nearby added adrenaline. I recommend

A plop of an island surrounded by reefs - this is an ideal spot for a break. We stayed at the Sandy Beach hotel om the beach and had a relaxing and restorative time. The island is accessible at high and low tide, and besides a variety of tropical fish, you can see turtles and man-friendly sharks. Well worth a visit

Best snorkeling location in UAE we have found.
If you are not staying at Sands Hotel don't use them as they will charge 105 dhs per person to go through to beach and access hire centre. Either use public beach to swim out, go to Miramar (5mins up the road) and go to hire centre there or hire a boat at port (V Cheap).
You need to be lucky to see dolphins and reef sharks. There are lots of shoals of fish and you are most likely to see turtles on south side of Island. Keep your eyes peeled as it is easy to miss them with their green stone coloured shells. Reef sharks seem to keep close in to reef and are fast moving so you will only get a glance of them.
Thankfully we didn't see any jelly fish but they are around. Apparently vinegar is good for their sting.

Great experience, plenty to see underwater - the Sandy Beach Hotel is asking 130 dhs per adult (!!!) to have the right to use their beach (and not even a soft drink included into the price!) - you can easily avoid it by stopping at the beach just before the hotel and swim to Snoopy Island from there... unless you want to have lunch or a beer at the premises...

An island shaped like famous Snoopy laying on top of his doggy house offers the best intro to snorkeling. With its shallow water in which you can walk halfway to the island, rich wildlife around the island makes it beautiful for a day getaway.
Most of the time you will spot various schools of fish, sea urchins (keep your feet up and away, they're impressive in its massiveness but very easy to see and avoid) and occasional turtle, but many people report sightings of reef sharks and other wonderful creatures. Even if you just spot corals and fish you will still enjoy your little trip.
Beach itself is not much to write home about, it's clean, small and filled with expats relaxing away from the busy city. There are few little bars and restaurants, prices are fair for what it is and it's worth is mainly for snorkeling and kayaking activities.
Ideal day getaway for anyone, from couples to friends and families, just a 2h drive away from Dubai.

Can I get to snoopy island from public next to sandy beach hotel? Seems silly to pay when all want to do is swim to island.

Hi there..
Quick question..
Were there public restrooms and washrooms with showers available at this camping spot?

Are there any public washrooms and showers at the beaches in UAQ?
Written January 22, 2018
I would say the best for camping is the open beach next sandy beach and resort, it is a very popular camping spot due to the beautiful sunrise. you should try camping there it is worth checking out.

Hello. I am going to Fujairah with my husband and brother-in-law this weekend and we are wanting to do some snorkeling. I have heard that snoopy island has some of the best snorkeling in the area. Is there a place to rent snorkel gear nearby? Do you have to have access to the hotel beach to get to the island or is there a public beach that we can use?
Thanks!
Written March 8, 2017
If you search for "Fujairah Beach Camping" on Google Maps it will take you to the public beach :-)
