As a family of 5 (kids of 14, 12 and 10) with no mountain bike experience we really enjoyed this trip. We hired bikes at TCB and they also arranged to drop us and the bikes at the top of the track. This provides for a net descent back into Ohakune. There still some steep climbs included en route but... More

Two families of 8 with four teens set off and went from Horopito back to Ohakune which is more downhill than the other way. Recommend that direction. Some of the climbs are a workout but with some moderate fitness or willingness to walk you can do this. Bikes were good quality with many brand new. Brakes and gears worked well.... More

Family of four (mum, dad and 18, 20 year old boys) mum definitely the novice but of good fitness level. Hired bikes from Mountain bike station, which were good quality, with helmet and gloves. Bumpy ride, good level of hard and flat parts, lots of bumps... but fabulous scenery and lots of history as well. Well worth being transported from... More

This is one of New Zealand's best cycle rides and Mountain Bike Station provide an outstanding service which lets you get the best out of their extremely well organised four or five day trip to take in the ride. Their attention to detail is great with excellent accommodation, tips on historical and scenic points and a wonderful surprise at the... More

Last week 10 of us did "Mountains to Sea" , we were all very impressed with how smoothly everything went , Darren, Jane & Jo were just amazing . We were greeted with a great coffee & muffins on arrival at 9am. They were very thorough at all times with their organisation. We were very happy riders. Jo was great... More

Mountain Bike Station provided great organisation and support and extra little touches for our group on this 5 day ride through some of the more remote parts of the North Island. They booked our accommodation, provided a shuttle service for our luggage each night and for ourselves when required. Nothing was too much trouble for the cheerful staff.

Level 2 grade so good family ride. Lots of variety and even some sheep n beef mustered past us. Bikes were outstanding-just kept going. A couple of hiccups prior to leaving but sorted pretty quickly. Great little business

We did the Mountainbike tour on the old coach road. So awesome. Amazing! Must do! Jo was lovely. On the way to the drop off place she explained the tour in detail to us and gave us valuable advice! Mountainbikes were great. Tour cost $50 pp which was good value for money.

Darren found us bikes that fitted then told us the history as he drove us to Smash Palace and start of the Old Coach Road trail. We spent a few hours on the trail, stopping for morning tea and lunch along the way. The scenery was stunning, both natural and man made. A great way to spend a day with... More
