This is the capital city where everything takes place. I mean most of the businesses are here although restaurants are scattered around. One can walk all over the place if it is not too hot or not raining. It is, however, one of the two...More

Kolonia, Pohnpei is probably not on every traveller's map, but those world travellers who want to explore Micronesia should pick this island. It's lush green vegetation and multiple bays and islands give it a wonderful image. There are multiple accommodations where you can choose from....More

As a first time visitor, it was to say the least an amazing time in Pohnpei. Although small, i rented a car and travelled around the whole island. So much to see and do on this island. Cute resturants, bars and sights. Kepirohi falls are...More

This is a functional town, not a tourist destination. It is full of small stores, apartments, houses, and some government agencies. There's really nothing touristy to see here. But if you like you can browse in the little shops and thereby learn a bit about...More

I enjoyed seeing Kolonia since I had just come from Kosrae, and Kolonia resembled a town more than Tofol. But, it doesn't have many attractions. You can see The Spanish Wall and the old German church in minutes. The view of Sokehs Rock is nice....More

Kolonia is a strange kind of town. There are roads and shops, but not much more. The tourism office is located here, which is a very good place to visit for help and tips for what to do, but the town isn't really a tourist...More

Not a tourist attraction by any stretch of the imagination -- just a serviceable small town (I do mean small) with a few decently stocked supermarkets, a barber, hairstylist, post office, etc. It has no bars, night life, etc -- it is not that kind...More

Needed a haircut and saw a sign that said "Barber". Don't see barbers much anymore. Usually salons and stylists. Decided to stop in. There was a chair open and they invited me right in. The young man cutting my hair was friendly and professional. He...More

Slow place. Few interesting places scattered all over the town. Few restaurants and shops. People seem to be friendly.

One of the most beautiful place I've been to. I will admit it takes a little getting used to but once you travel more around the island you fall in love. Lots of hiking, snorkeling, diving, history and more awaits you...will be back!
