About Talkeetna River Guides - Day Trips
Whether you are an experienced adventurer or a family traveling with children, TRG‘s scenic float trips fit a broad spectrum of tastes. Few places in the world rival the scenic beauty of Mt. McKinley (known locally as Denali, or “the Great One” in the Tanana Athabascan dialect) and the glacier-fed river valleys of the southern slopes of the Alaska Range. Located just 120 road miles northeast of Anchorage, the quaint, historic town of Talkeetna sits near the confluence of three mighty rivers, the Susitna, the Chulitna, and the Talkeetna. TRG operates out of a yurt office on Main Street. Other activities in the area include hiking in Denali State Park, flightseeing amidst the spectacular peaks of the Alaska Range, and remote wilderness exploration in the unspoiled reaches of Denali National Park and the nearby Talkeetna Mountains — just to name a few. We offer 2-hour Talkeetna River and 4-hour Chulitna River Trips. As well as custom and overnight trips, just call or email us for more information. We provide rain gear and boots so you can enjoy your trip rain or shine.

Sabrina took a group of 5 middle aged people down the river in a raft and provided us with information about the area along with bird sightings and a history of the river system.

My wife and I were looking for a rafting trip without white water. This fit the bill. Although it was raining to beat the drum, we were kept relatively dry by the large rainsuits and boots that were provided. Our guide,PJ, was very skilled in...More

We had a great time with the Talkeetna River Guides. Our guide, Kristy, loves Alaska and shared that enthusiasm with us. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery while Kristy told us about life in Alaska and living off the grid. My mom and I were both...More

My 2 teens and I took the 2 hour scenic tour. We have never been before and didn’t realize we had to sit on edge of the raft. But the staff was nice and talked us through it all. Our guide Harry was young and...More

We did the 4 hour Chulitna River float trip in the early morning. There is no white water on this trip so you shouldn't have a problem with your camera - unless you drop it in the river! Also, please note that these float... More
