If you are lucky .... a spell at 30 meters off the end of Elphinstone will result in a shoal of hammerheads emerging from the gloom. Patience and quiet, plus great air control is a must - but worth the trip :) :) :)

Wonderful reef. Like a mountain in the ocean. Steep walls on either side. Not a hard dive if the currents are slow. Was lucky to see sharks (longimanus) on 2 out of 3 tries. Steep coral walls with lots of beautiful corals. To live and...More

Beautiful dive site, can have strong unpredictable currents. For experienced divers only, Napoleon wrasse, lovely coral, many reef fish. Sharks and dolphins an added bonus if you are lucky.

One of the most beautiful reefs in the World, and to put the icing on the cake, we were accompanied on our second dive by two Oceanic whitetip sharks. Amazing

Elphinstone Reef is a 2km long narrow submerged reef that lies approximately 5-6km off the coast between Port Ghalib and Marsa Alam. It is a wonderful reef full of colourful corals and fishlife - but be aware that there can be strong currents (usual current...More
