Love the ride to beach!

I made it a one day trip from Kyoto although I gotta spent about 7 hour on the train. The train from Takaoka to Amaharashi station was Ninja-Hatori train, well it's really cute... read more

The coast is accessible by public transport evident by the train station here. Though one needs to check on the frequency of service. If driving there are limited parking space around the station. The way to the coast from the station is via a crossing further up from the station. Once across, one will be walking along the beach with... More

So surprised to see so much rubbish on the beach. Japan is usually so beautiful and I was truly shocked and disappointed. We only had a few minutes as the train schedule isn't great - we could stay either 15 minutes or 2 hours and nothing in between.

If you want to spend slow life, I highly recommend to visit a very small town. Amaharashi station is very small but lovely. Please do not expect a stunning view like picture you see in magazine. The day with rain would be like my picture. However, I love this coast. Nothing to do there, just a bit walk on beach... More

I made it a one day trip from Kyoto although I gotta spent about 7 hour on the train. The train from Takaoka to Amaharashi station was Ninja-Hatori train, well it's really cute. On the way there, the train went along the beach and that made the ride more interesting. At the beach, it's very hot but the weather was... More
