For nigh onto 26-years, going North to Fairbanks and back South to Anchorage, Alaska, I have driven past the entrance to the Nancy Lakes Recreation Area, located at Milepost 67.3, on the Parks Highway, North of Wasilla, Alaska. Thanks only to Trip Advisor, on this...More

I don't think Alaska complies with ADA laws at their parks, I am disabled and have difficulty walking, I have only found one place so far in the Palmer/Wasilla area that I can actually get to the water to fish.

We paddled the canoe trail and stayed in one of the state park cabins. The cabins are clean and spacious, and the scenery is Alaska at it's finest.

We went out to Cabin #3 in February of 2015 – we had a wonderful experience! That fireplace can roar! We were actually too hot! But, loved it. Here is my blog post about the trip with plenty of photos. http://gneissweiss.blogspot.com/2015/02/nancy-lake-cabin.html

We rented Cabin #3 on Nancy Lake which is canoe in only. This would have been perfect if it was not for the motorboat traffic. On our way to the cabin a motorboat sped next to us tipping us over along with our gear and...More

Be advised that the majority of the road is not plowed during the winter so you have to park your rig and drive your snowmachine along Nancy Lake Parkway to the recreation area. We have a cabin in Willow and are able to ride the...More
