We did this tour with six adults and five kids, and everyone enjoyed it. The guides are very knowledgeable and informative. After riding the tram in, you get off twice and see actual working areas as they were long ago. I have claustrophobia, but did...More

Had a great time riding the little train into the Mine. Guide was an ex miner who had been there in 1975 when it shut down. Gotta go back and do it again w the grandkids!

To see something from the past that you only heard about is a blessing. All the docents for this tour are former miners who give factual knowledge and experiences. They dress you for the part with a vest ( or jacket ), a hard hat...More

Worth the time and $13 to take the 1 hour tour. Led by a former miner with a talent for telling the mine stories. Very informative.

Hi The stairs are optional, 36 steps up and down. If a person choses not to do the stairs a staff member waits with them and talks about other thing about the mine.
