Hike

Great hiking park, varied views moderate trail with bikes and horses. Watch for the bikes they often are moving very fast and they have the right of way.

Hiked the Go john trail on a very hot weekday morning. Not very busy (nice!) and the views and wild flowers were beautiful!

There is a six-dollar entry fee but the folks at the visitor center are very nice and helpful. There are a few exhibits inside and we were there a few days after their resident desert tortoise came out of hibernation. We went on the recommended trail to see the most flowers and it was a very easy hike with gradual... More

We have hiked in this park many times over the years, but not for the past couple of years. Yes, the price of admission keeps going up ($6), but the park keeps improving. The most enjoyable hikes for us are when the wildflowers are blooming, and they really were blooming on our 3/4/17 hike. The weather was perfect and although... More

Got up early and spent the first several hours on the trails without seeing anyone. came back to an almost full parking lot. Great place to spend the morning. Then went and spent several hours horseback riding at the MTM ranch, great place as well!!

Granted there are many places in the area where you can hike for free but the $6 entrance fee is well worth it to enjoy this experience. The people in the visitor center were helpful and the hiking was peaceful, beautiful, and a delightful opportunity to meet others appreciating the wonderful area..

We recently hiked at this park- it was a beautiful sunny day and we always hike in the morning- was fun meeting other people on the trail- the flowers were in bloom too so that made it special too. The desert was very green. We hiked 4 miles. There is a small fee to get into the park but it... More

Arizona is known for its wonderful sunny skies and beautiful vistas. On an overcast and rainy day we decided to hike the Overton trail. The trail was well marked and easy to accomplish in a 1.5 hour time period. Although it was raining we found the views fantastic. The desert was green and in blossum. People we met on the... More

Visiting Cave Creek? Nothing better than hitting the park for a hike. Always, stay on trails, start off with sunscreen and plenty of water. If you never hiked before, this is a perfect place to start! You will get addicted. The views are mesmerizing, the landscape unusual, displaying many different forms of native Cactus. It's worth stopping and taking lots... More
