    Quaint little downtown
We stopped for a visit after I was told by a coworker had a. Ice little downtown. After visiting I have to say I agree. There are a variety of shops, restaurants and coffee shops as well as wine tasting rooms. We visited in the morning. Will have to return for a wine walk and dinner sometime.

Homogenous tourist trap for rich boomers on vacation
I lived in Cottonwood from 2009-21. Old Town Cottonwood used to have a lot more variety and authenticity during its early revitalization (book store, candy shop, bakery, patisserie, beer brewery), but over the years, especially after Covid, everything had been gradually replaced by like 15 wineries and expensive/generic gift shops. Most of the restaurants used to be a lot better too. Merkin is the only reliably good restaurant left.

    Worth exploring
This town surprised me in how many stores and restaurants it had to offer. We were in the area for four days, and spent part of each there. Do not pass up the new Copper Store, where literally 95% of everything is copper. I think I left half my bank account there. They have another store in Jerome that is larger and has some antiquey stuff. but I liked this place better. The owners are very friendly and we were in there so much that they became like family.

    Cottonwood, hidden AZ GEM
Loved Cottonwood though we found it by accident while seeking a less congested area than Sedona, but needing to get into Sedona at night fir astrophotography. Cottonwood has much to offer including hiking, museums, restaurants and shopping. We plan to go back!

Old town Cottonwood has old historic charm… cute stores and wine tasting.. some night they have live music.. we really enjoyed the restaurants, Nic’s, crema, Bocce and the Tavern Grill.. all very different and all owned by the same couple . It’s called the haunted group as they also have places up in Jerome, which we visited some the haunted hamburger. everyone so friendly and we.coming.. we had a great stay. Will be back again. Nice to see Cottonwood showcase their historic roots
After arriving in Cottonwood via the Verde Bus system we began our trek to Old Town to explore what Cottonwood had to offer. It was quite charming, on the small side, filled with the usual assortment of antique/second hand shops, eateries, specialty shops, some historic buildings, and a winery or two. The actual length of Old Town isn't much more than maybe 4 blocks at the most. It ends at the river parkway. It is served by a local Verde bus route that goes to the library bus terminus. I am not certain we would repeat our visit here next time we stay in Sedona as there just wasn't enough to peak our interest.

This is a fun little town with lots of places to do wine tasting and shop. We stayed at the Ironhorse Hotel which had a nice courtyard just steps from Main St.

Cute, Safe, historic main street atmosphere with plenty of restaurants! We had no problem going out on main street and enjoy a variety of great food. There are plenty of wine tasting opportunities to indulge in.
