I suppose Saturday afternoon is the busiest time at wineries, and this one was very crowded, no place to sit, no room at the tasting bar, and no chance to hear anything about the wines. The list of tasting options (5 tastes for $10) was vast and varied. Several of the reds were peppery and metallic. The wine glass we... More

A 3rd stop on our tasting tour of the SW Arizona vineyards. Very nice establishment, but certainly again very well sorry the only adjective that comes to mind is snobbish. If we brought our own glasses we could have paid to sample the wine, otherwise we had to buy glasses and pay additional to sample the wine. No thank you.

We felt that the folks here were resting on the laurels of good reviews from Robert Parker sometime in the past. The wines were less good than we found at neighboring wineries, and our host was a major disappointment. She would pour a wine and say "there you go" and not say anything more or attempt to engage us in... More

This was our second visit here. I am amazed that there are world class wines being produced in southern Arizona. Kent is doing great work with many otherwise obscure grapes. Meghan in the tasting room is knowledgeable and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Callaghan Vineyards has been producing some of the best red wines in Arizona for over ten years. Kent Callaghan is a perfectionist and loves to create interesting blends, all of which are very drinkable upon release or aged to perfection in your wine cellar. Make a point to review all of the awards he has won. Kudos to Callaghan Vineyards!

A beautiful place to sit outside, great variety of wines, friendly people and a super chill vineyard dog make Callaghan Vineyards our favorite place to go wine tasting in Arizona! Although AZ wines do not yet compare to wines from California, France or Chile, Callaghan is definitely on the right path to pursue excellent winemaking. Our favorites were: Lisa's 2014... More

Our Callaghan wine tasting experience was excellent. We had some personal (and award-winning) favorites that we're having shipped home. Highly recommend a stop at Callaghan for those visiting the Sonoita/Elgin, AZ area.

The Sonoita-Elgin area of southern Arizona is rapidly becoming a must see destination due to the quality of the wines being produced by the growing number of wineries in this area known as Arizona’s Island in the Sky. Sonoita Vineyards was the first winery, but Callaghan Vineyard’s, founded in 1990, is simply the best. They produce some incredible reds. For... More

There were four in our group and each of us enjoyed the wines here. Wayne was working on Wednesday and he was friendly, helpful and low-key.
