Sonoita Vineyards was our first stop in the area and being the only group, we were spoiled by the attention. Monica spent the time to educate us on growing grapes, the wine making process, and not just selling a bottle of wine. When it came to the tastings, again, we were educated on the tasting process and the highlights of... More

Sweet and dry wines available. Great scenery. Would be better to visit on a warmer day, as they have picnic tables outside. Discounted tastings if you bring your own glass.

Wine tastings are all about individual preference so take this review as just one data point. I personally found the wines to be very grassy - including the Malbec and other reds, which you normally wouldn't describe as grassy. Just a different style in wine making than I prefer.

Hello Fritch, Like you said wine is all about individual preference. I am sorry you felt our wines were grassy that is a first for our reds our Sauvignon Blanc can have grassy notes for sure. Well next time you are down give us another try we have never got grassy notes on any of our reds before. Sorry you... More

We visited Elgin on a Monday and Sonorita was one of the few tasting rooms open. For $10 we got a souvenir glass and tastes of 5 wines. The bartender, Foster, was a wealth of information about pairings. Wines in AZ are pricey - $35 for a cab. Good quality though. The winery will honor glasses from other vineyards for... More

Sonoita Vineyards is a nice winery with locally grown grapes and good wine. This entire area is experience growth in the wine industry. Although the wines are good, they certainly are not Napa quality. However, if you want a quick trip from Tucson (within 45 mins) there are about 8 wineries that are worth visiting.

Thank you so much for your review we hope to see you again 🍷. Yes our wines are nothing like Napas since our grapes are grown in Arizona they are better 🍷😊 Cheers Lori Reynolds Winemaker Sonoita Vineyards 520-455-5893 More

Our visit here was outstanding too. The wines were great and the staff was so knowledgeable about the history of the area. The winery sits atop a gorgeous hill and offers horseback rides sometimes. The also hold numerous festivals throughout the year

Sonoita Vineyards is the pioneer of southern Arizona’s emerging and growing wine industry and it was through the work of Dr. Gordon Dutt, a former soil scientist at the University of Arizona, that he determined through a 1973 test plot, that the soil in the area was excellent for the growing of red grapes, and at an altitude of around... We drove up here from Tucson. Very surprised to see how much the countryside changed, from desert to lush, endless plains framed by distant mountains. Beautiful (see attached photo). Was also 16 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than Tucson. We went in the off season, so we were the only ones there. The service was great, very attentive and the setting is... More

We've been here before and each time we have a great time. The employees are always knowledgable (this visit Mercedes rocked our socks off). She made great recommendations by asking us questions about what kinds of wine we normally like and we tried new things that we fell in love with. And the VIEW!!! It is so beautiful and peaceful...
