The area is quite serene and large. You may choose the stroll the lake and sit on the grass and watch the magnificent fountain spout. The Fountain is quite as it erupts. It is a wonderful sight to see. It is also free with lots of parking.
We attended the Fountain Hill Art Festival and happen to be by the lake as it erupted. Beautiful! It made the art show all the better!
I recommended 2-3 hours to visit because of the ongoing art show. You could easily spend this amount of time if you brought a picnic, rode bikes, or took a stroll around the lake. Couples, families and singles would all enjoy this place.

I say this is a rip off because they advertise that it’s the “world famous” fountain, but then they don’t give you THAT fountain. The famous one can shoot up roughly 50 stories, but they only do that on special occasions, so when I’m sitting there waiting for it to shoot off and it goes up about ten stories I feel a little ripped off. It’s false advertising.

We came here to see the movie stars who live here. The fountain and park are incredible. What a great little town to visit. The American Bar and Grill has the best views and location. Make sure you gas up or have a full tank as local stations have much higher prices and tend to gouge. All those nice homes sure are spectacular.

Took an overnight trip to Fountain Hills and took a morning walk around the park. Clean and open with nice walking paths and bits of art scattered about. The fountain itself was not working but it didn’t take away from the atmosphere. The people of this Phoenix suburb are very friendly. I can see why this is one of the areas where people are moving to

Beautiful fountain and surrounding park area. We were there on St Patrick’s Day and enjoyed the noon 30 minutes greening of the fountain. The water was beautiful and the fountain shot so high into the sky, it looked like it was touching the clouds. Great walking path, green grass and clover plus wonderful nearby restaurants to enjoy. Highly recommend.

Fountain hills park should be renamed the swamp park, Went there today for a walk with my wife, very smelly, swamp smell. Too much water and they water all day during the weekends. Not properly managed? Puddles everywhere, sidewalk soaked in the middle of the day and in the morning? Terrible experience. Because of the constant watering and over saturation, the grass is dying and the sidewalks are extremely slippery. Very likely someone will slip and fall and most likely sue the town for neglect.
Not a park I will re-visit in the near future.

We were there on St. Patrick’s Day to see the fountain turn green. Beautiful weather and a perfect day for a picnic. At noon they blow the horn and the fountain starts up. The water takes about 20 minutes before it turns green but it’s so pretty once it does. Lots of room for kids to play in the grass and also several playgrounds. The water feature park is still under construction so that wasn’t working but it looks like a lot of fun when it is. Several restaurants around and parking is relatively easy to find, even on a special day like when we were there.

I've read that the fountain's 'full height of 560 feet, the fountain in the center of Fountain Hills is higher than the Washington Monument' . I didn't know that it is 10 feet taller than Notre Dame Cathedral! which i've seen in person while visiting Paris. Putting all of that aside, its definitely a site to see! Just walking around and taking time to just sit on a park bench, taking time to breathe and reflect in the quietness of the area and the view all around is spectacular!

The fountain in aptly named Fountain Hills is a great place to visit on a warm sunny day, the fountain erupts every hour on the hour and shoots up 100 feet into the air, it can be seen from miles away. There is a walking path that meanders through the park and they even have a disc golf course set up. There are restaurants around the park too so you it makes a great place to spend a few hours.

The fountain flows on the hour beginning at 9:00am. This feature is surrounded by an wonderful park where frizbee golf is played by some. Ive never see that before. The town commercial restaurants and residential dwellings surround the fountain. Take the time to walk the lake view hike trail to the east which leads to the top of the 'MOUNTAIN"see the town from there and local plant life.

Absolutely. There are covered picnic areas at various places around the fountain.
