Make sure you have time to stop at the rest stop and pull offs. Take your time and dont rush. It is a beautiful scenic drive. Definitely stop at the ready stop at the bottom and walk around to the water. So peaceful and relaxing.

A very curve road that takes you through the Pinal forest to a peak of over 7000 feet. It is worth the drive, but you need to have the time.

Well worth the drive from Globe. Spectacular canyon, beautiful river, and a pedestrian bridge all make for good photos. Hold on to your hat - it's breezy on that pedestrian bridge :)

All aping flowers are in bloom, beautiful drive. We continued through 188 by Roosevelt lake to 88 apache trail. Do not attempt 88 with out a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Well worth it though.

Definitely worthwhile to see. There does not appear to be a lot of stopping places but there are a couple. One area is a tourist stop with a washroom available. Lots of switchbacks so take your time! There are lots of steep drop offs but...More

A mini grand Canyon, the road goes right to the bottom of the canyon and up the other side. There is a rest stop at the bottom for services and photos.

This is about a 40 minute drive through the Tonto National Forest, and it's just gorgeous. Plus one will learn a bit about the history of copper mining in Arizona, and if you go to Besh Ba Gowah, then you'll learn about the Native Americans...More

This was a spectacular 5 mile ride into the canyon with breath taking views on a long windy road that certainly rivals the Grand Canyon. My wife and I took several breaks on this scenic road. I'm not one for big drop offs and this...More

First off, I’m terrified of heights. That’s why the title. Very very good road, lots of scenic overlooks, and breathtaking vistas. There usually are Indian vendors on the south side of the river. Very good deals can be had.

We came up from Tucson that day. It was raining and generally miserable, drove it south to north, ended in Sho Low. In spite of the weather, you could tell immediately, it was something special. As long as you've got... More
