- Anna L18 contributionsWorth it to usGlad to read all the reviews and went in well informed and prepared. Almost didn’t go but glad we did. We visited late October 2023 midweek. Remember: this is Native American owned, not US park service! An hour off US93 like NPS site is an hour north of I40. Saw glamming and RV site on the way in. Yes, you pay around $40 (ask for small senior discount). About the same as Hoover Dam tour. Add for the skywalk. Could omit. True-the skywalk might be underwhelming but not much more $$ for one time splurge. We were ready for the lines (moved reasonably quickly) & had lots to learn from exhibits along the way. Different vistas than NPS GC. Shuttle to skywalk (no rushing) and guano point (guano was fabulous views and easy walking or scrambling). If you’d like a different canyon experience or a second half day, it might be worth it for you too.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten October 26, 2023
- middleparkersPortsmouth, United Kingdom23 contributionsAmazing viewsAmazing views and easy to find from vegas. The bus that took us from the car park to the sights was easy to negotiate, but the one thing I was disappointed in was the souvenirs. I was hoping to buy some traditional Indian jewellery, but it appeared to be stuff you could get off amazon . Some idiots probably forctheir Instagram pictures were really chancing it right on the edges of the mountains and had to be told to move back the mindset of some is incredible...Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten December 29, 2023
- JCM8214Atlanta, Georgia5 contributionsSo glad we made the tripWe bought our tickets online and were running late getting there from Hoover Dam. I was a nervous mess the whole drive there because we were so late. We finally got there 5:15 and it closes at 6:00. Michael drove us up special and we were the last ones on the skywalk. We then rushed over the Guano Point. There were still 50-100 people there but it was not packed. The trip was definitely rushed due to our own lateness but I appreciated them finding a way to get us in. I would recommend arriving on the later side (but not as late as us!) and miss the big crowds and enjoy the sunset.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten December 31, 2023
- Breanna R3 contributionsLoved the second stopIt was a little pricey at ~50 dollars per person plus it was additional for zip line and the skywalk. We definitely spent more time at the second stop, better views and more to see. Most of our party agree that the skywalk wasn’t really worth the money as you couldn’t take phones or cameras with you. You had to purchase those also.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten January 12, 2024
- janice hWoodbridge, Canada10 contributionsAwesome views, my family loved it.Amazing views, if you are in las Vegas and want to do a field trip with the family, this is great. Might not be the same as South rim provincial park, but the views of the Grand Canyon west are great and spectacular as well. The only important thing to know is this is not the provincial park and therefore is not cheap to get it. You should make sure you have a budget for the entrance fees. The website advertises as $49 per person, but I was never able to get this price when I tried buying the tickets online. I paid $52 per person online, the price is the same at the location, there was no savings for buying ahead of time online, as the price was the same when you arrive at the first point. So my recommendation is pay when you arrive, no need to buy online ahead of time.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten January 18, 2024
- Natalie1 contributionGreat view at Guano, but VERY pricy for what you getThe prices are a bit on the pricy side in our opinion. We paid $53 PER PERSON, making it in total $115 after tax. We got the general pass which gave us accsess to the the outside area of the sky walk (but not the sky walk itself) which had very limited views. However, the Guano point had some amazing views which you get to experience with the general pass! Will drop some photos below:) But in total we’d much rather recommend taking the trip further to the actual Grand Canyon National Park where you pay way less and really get the canyon vibes!:))Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten February 20, 2024
- Sightseer7707891 contributionSign Up for Grand Canyon West - Great value & amazing sights - Ask for Scarlet, GuideThe trip was an amazing and very fair value. Our guide SCARLET was off the charts amazing, her knowledge and truly deep love for what she does was amazing. If you get to have Scarlet, I'd choose her. It was a long but certainly covered everything we expected and more. Saw Grand Canyon West, Eagle point, and Gran point. We stopped on the earlier side to get lunch, which was included and excellent!! We went earlier to avoid the crowds and sure enough as we finished the crowds showed up and we had time to take speak to s few of the Native Americans that worked there and took some photos of teepees and other homes. Then on the way back we stopped at the Hoover Dam, Amazing stop and plenty of different views.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten March 2, 2024
- Brian MNew Jersey83 contributionsBeautiful and Worth the Trip.A great time-we went and just did the general admission pass. If you are not interested in the skywalk, the second stop will be all you need. Guano Point has the views of the Grand Canyon you are seeking, just be careful of your footing as there are no fences or guardrails. Search around the rocks for a way up and you will find breathtaking views. The tribe is friendly and worth supporting. My only issue is the lack of signage. People are confused, and there are very few signs to guide them at various points. It’s not a big deal but a little one that could be easily solved with just a few more informative signage. Wonderful people, it is a great idea to visit here and support the tribe and see the views.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten March 7, 2024
- Lydia CopelandTampa, Florida140 contributionsAmazing Views and Beautiful CultureWe rented a car from Las Vegas to drive to Grand Canyon West. It’s on the Hualapai Native American Reservation. It was about a 3 hour drive each way, the drive in was beautiful and the Grand Canyon West was amazingly more beautiful!! You park in a central location the an inside bus takes you to a few viewing areas. We only did Eagle and Guano Point because the wind was so bad. We’d love to come back to visit the Hualapai authentic restaurant and do an overnight stay.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten March 16, 2024
- doublefront73 contributionsGo early to beat the crowdsGo early!! We arrived by 9:30am and had no lines for the buses and one minimal line for the skywalk. We also did the zip line which was a lot of fun. Just make sure you are able to climb several flights of stairs. We also did the meal ticket which I know was a ripoff but it was sure convenient. The bbq pork was yummy.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten March 27, 2024

My family and I were at Grand Canyon West. We rented a car and drove ourselves from Las Vegas. When we arrived it was like visiting a ghost town. Hard to find any employees to talk to and when we encountered an employee we were greeted with a condescending and down right disrespectful attitudes. Our visit became worse from there. We waited for 10-15 mins. for someone to sell us tickets for a Skywalk. We move up to get our tickets scanned and we were greeted by a woman who was busy playing on her phone. She looked up ' saw us standing in front of her and she continued to play on her phone while she laughed. By this time after no one to consult with; disrespect, fowl language, van ride, waiting for tickets and this employee on the phone; I had enough. I asked for a refund and just wanted to go home; she said "there were no refunds". I ask to speak to a manager; low and behold I was talking to the Photographer Supervisor/Skywalk Manager ( she so boldly exclaimed ) "that's are rules and we don't give refunds"! This woman I think her name was Rachel should not even have a job much less be in management. Is this a joke? or a nightmare ? We walked out and were able to receive a refund from the white domed building where we purchased our tickets. I told the concierge at our hotel about our experience she said "those are the stories we have been getting from all of our guests" she "could not remember the last time someone had said something positive about there experience at GCW".

If you are looking for beauty and breathtaking views, go to the South Rim. Here at the West Rim is nothing but a primitive area with no grandeur. First the bus that takes you to the 3 viewpoints has painted windows that you can't take pictures out of. Next you are forced to go to the other two viewpoints, one of which requires a 10 minute hike to get to, the other is a primitive village. The Skywalk is located at the third viewpoint. You have to stand in a cattle line for 45 minutes before being allowed out on the Skywalk. You have to wear booties that everyone else has had on their feet. There are no cellphones/cameras allowed to take your own pictures. Instead, there are 3 or 4 camera people out there who will have you do goofy poses and then sell you the pictures. It is a long, long drive to the area and so not worth it!

If I could give this 0 stars I would. It's a 5 star view for sure, bit it ends there. So glad we did this before bringing our kids. They don't allow public vehicles so you have to use the transportation they provide for $55/person. If you want the top notch view that is $80/person BUT the kicker is no personal belongings are allowed on that look out. Which translates to no phone and no camera. Save your money for the gas to enter the national park and drive past this joke of a tourist trap!
I understand the reason for having to use the provided busses, my issue is with the cost. If it really gets as busy as you say than why not charge $20/person and make it more realistic for groups of more than 2 people. Over $100 for a 10 minute ride is ridiculous!
As far as the Sky Walk rules, $80 to look at a view is also ridiculous. Again if you have as many tourists as you claim why not make it more family friendly by creating a price point most could afford. I don't think there is a legitimate reason to charge the prices you do for any of it!

Ann,
We are very sorry to hear about your disappointment. The West Rim is located on the Hualapai Indian Reservation, so we are privately owned and operated by the Hualapai Tribe. Because of this, our fees and regulations differ from the National Park. Our fees go toward maintaining and enhancing the destination and supporting the local Tribe. However, we do offer a variety of unique amenities that can't be experienced at other viewpoints of the Canyon such as the Skywalk and cultural experience.

This place is a total scam. Don’t waste your money. They will charge you more than $50 per person for nothing. No meaningful service is provided.
These people have blocked access to a piece of nature and they charge you for taking you there in a bus. There is paved road everywhere so the whole shuttle system is a fake job. On the bus we had to stay standing because there was no enough seating. When we arrived, we had to wait in lines for more than an hour to see the deep canyon.
They have made a glass ledge over the canyon. That is the only place from which you can see all the way down. They charge you another $15 for that. Then they make you put everything in lockers before going there. Phones, cameras, even bioculars. Then they take pictures of you to sell them to you for even more money. Can’t imagine how pathetic and shameless these people are who strip you of basic things and then sell them back to you for crazy money.
To give you a sense of the insanity, just for comparison, a whole year of acess to all the national parks of the US costs only $80 per vehicle! Here you pay at least $50 per person for just one canyon!!! What’s more? they have put up tip baskets everywhere as well!
Instead of celebrating and promoting the Native American culture and lifestyle for visitors, charging money for what people could’ve already done by themselves (taking pictures, driving up to the canyon, bringing food), they only create bad atitudes towards themselves.
Finally, I’ll name a few attractions nearby that not only are more beautiful than this place, but treat you with more dignity and respect and charge you for meaningful services they provide:
Bryce Canyon National Park
Glen Canyon National Park
Horseshoe Bend
Grand Canyon National Park
Monument Valley
Antelope Canyon

Closer to Las Vegas, our family decide to visit Grand Canyon West vs Grand Canyon National Park-South Rim. GCW was great for a short visit (~3 hours) to see the amazing Grand Canyon. Admission price (~$50 per person) was higher than the National Park, but worth it. The Skywall would add another ~$25 per person), so we skipped that and just the admired the glorious sites from the outside viewing areas. Workers were very nice.

The sky point is absolutely a disappointment!! We could not bring our phones or cameras to take photos. Instead, we had to pay $25 for one photo of $65 for a group of photos. Very disappointed! They take you to the sky point and charge for these photos then the next stop is absolutely gorgeous and you are able to take photos on your own. So, definitely don’t pay the extra for the sky point skip this stop! Also, I’d you get there a little before 5:00 PM the restaurant is closed.

My wife and I recently visit the west rim on 2022 New Year eve to experience the Skywalk. Despite a few negative comments we give it a shot. I paid close to $150 for both of us for general admission and the Skywalk package. We aware that they don’t allow bring camera nor back pack so we didn’t bring any belonging and everything stuff in the locker near by. On the Skywalk ring, we spend over 10 minutes to view the Eagle point, when we check our watch to see the time, there is security man approach us and asking are we trying to taking a picture with the Apple Watch. I was shocked and told him I don’t think a watch can take a picture. Few minutes pass by, my wife received a text on her watch and she check it and a same man approach us again, this time he demands to check my wife’s jacket pocket. She pull out a key and show him that’s all she has. I told man “look, honestly I didn’t want to come here, I want to go to South Rim instead, but my wife insist the SkyWalk so we give it a try, now you ruined it”. Summary go to south rim save over $100 and the view in SouthRim is much better and you don’t get harass.

A member of our party became ill and I called several times, left messages and emails to see if we can reschedule. Never heard from anyone. After a 2 hour drive, there wasn't much. A pretty view, but not as expansive as the South Rim. Waited about 30 minutes online to view from the Skywalk. Also bought a meal ticket in advance for the restaurant. Waited on line for close to an hour to get a table. Finally sat down and was completely ignored by the waiters until we finally spoke up to the manager. Then waited another 30 minutes to get our food. Signs say 30 min max to eat food. They did not enforce that at all and couldn't because the kitchen was so slow. It took 2 hours to eat hamburgers!! By the time we finished it was time to leave. A wasted trip and very BAD service. Do not recommend visiting the West Rim especially in high season unless you have plenty of time to stand on a line.

I did not expect the views to be as spectacular as they were, and was blown away with the beauty of the west rim. The drive from Las Vegas to get there was extremely easy, although plan ahead as there are not a ton of places to stop for water or bathrooms along the way. The Grand Canyon West experience was more expensive than I had anticipated, as I missed those details when planning, and I probably would not have paid to do the skywalk if I could choose again. The views were amazing on their own, and while cool, we did not need that to make our experience better. They don’t allow you to bring your phone out on the skywalk, and have photographers pushing groups doing poses, hoping you will pay for their photography instead. That was a bummer, as we would’ve liked to take our own photos out there, however, I do understand the reasoning that it is to keepman-made objects from falling down into the canyon. The lines for the buses were long, and for the skywalk even longer. We spent the majority of our visit waiting in lines, so be prepared, especially if visiting at a busy time of day (we came around 1pm on a Friday in March—to buy tickets was a half hour line, to get onto the shuttle bus another 30ish minutes, into the skywalk at least an hour). Despite the waits and the expense, it was 100% worth the time and money we spent to see this incredible beauty of a place.

Paid for the Skywalk bridge tour. No guides for the tour. Just read the information posted on the walls of the museum. No cell phones, bags or personal belongings allowed on the bridge. They have free lockers to put all your belongings in. Their photographs will take pictures of your family and you can purchase the photos later. Free bus will also take you to Guano point after the Skywalk where you can the Colorado river along the rim and walk close to the Western rim away from the Skywalk rim.

We already purchased tickets including the meal and I went to view the menus at the various dining options. Is the ticket good at any location for any meal? We have 2 vegans traveling with us and want to make sure they will have an option. I only saw one menu that referenced the meal tickets and it looked like you'd have to pick among kid type cuisine.

We are making this part of our day trip out of Las Vegas. We also want to visit the Hoover dam after, so we will be driving ourselves to go at our own leisure. Parking, entrance, and all the fees seem confusing when reading online and I can't find a straight answer.
We have to pay for parking, take a shuttle, then a separate entrance fee? We want to skip eagle point/skywalk and go straight to guano point for a quick hike and our own pictures. But some places say you have to get off the bus at eagle, then take another to guano? Also we will have to eat there and some places say meal ticket is required? I'm so confused on if this is a money grab that's not worth the drive (no, we will not drive to the south rim, we're not spending 10+ hours in the car on one of our limited vacation days).

I bought my tickets online for Grand Canyon West to skip the line and a cheaper rate! We also just bought food for the roadtrip instead of eating there. The bus loops around Grand Canyon West were very easy to use and are included in the main entrance fee.

I have some concerns about the parking lot shuttle during Covid. How long is the ride? Is the shuttle well ventilated? Do they enforce capacity limits that allow social distancing? Is there an option to walk from the lot to the viewing area or is it too far? Thanks in advance!
Written February 22, 2021
Rides are 10 mins. I don’t know if it was ventilated. The bus was full, but no one standing. No option that I saw to walk it’s 3-4 miles between stops. Masks were required but not heavily enforced.
