We drove though here on our way to Grand Canyon North Rim. Very pretty and a few photos to be taken. We passed some bison grazing along the way.

North rim of the Grand Canyon, Kanab Creek wilderness, very large wildlife population (Kaibab squirrels are cool). Lots of roads and trails. What more do you need?

On our drive from Jacob Lake to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon we saw Buffalo running about in the distance. There were several places to pull off the side of the road and watch nature in all its glory. When traveling at night...More

The first part of the Kaibab National Forest is the area around Tusayan south of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Although it is called a Forest it is more open plains in some areas and quite different scenery to what you see further...More

This area is really wide, open space - the kind of place you see in a Western movie! Wildlife abounds - deer and even buffalo!

We didn't know anything about the Kaibab National Forest until we drove to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It's a lovely destination on its own. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful meadows along the road. During our last drive we saw over a hundred...More

How are the road/weather conditions around Jacob Lake in mid April? I know the North Rim is closed until May, but I'm not sure if that is because of snowy conditions or just not enough visitors.

Realize there are limited trails. We found the ones on the north side of the canyon are less traveled.
We are heading to Utah from Las Vegas and want detour away for a day to see the North Rim. I'd like to rent cabin for the night in the Kaibab national forest somewhere between Jakob Lake and the North Rim. I cannot decide which to rent. I am looking on the reserve america web site. Is there a better, more clear man so I know where exactly each cabin is and the environment it is in? Karen
