Before you begin your self-guided tour of the park, go inside and watch the very informative 30 minute video on the history of not only the mining industry, but also the way it impacted the town. Touring the outside gives a view of some of the equipment used in the mines to extract the ore. Inside, you connect with the... More

Douglas house had great 28 minute movie of the history of Jerome and some nice exhibits. It made historical markers in town much clearer.

This is in the Douglas Mansion. It was really interesting finding out the history of Jerome. The old mining equipment outside the building was interesting too.

This was a very good jumping off point to begin our trip to Jerome. Although I had visited Jerome many times as a kid in the 80's, this was an excellent place to orient my kids (7 and 9) to Jerome and its history for the rest of our visit. Very complete historical museum. The rangers were friendly and offered... More

Some interesting exhibits and offers a great vantage point of Jerome town...the 30 minute film about the town's history was interesting and watching it first will enhance the town visit...still thought 7 dollars was bit much for the admission though...

What a wonderful place to visit. This mansion had a lot of history about the beginning of the copper industry. Great place for kids to learn Arizona history.

This is a good point to start your visit in Jerome (few min. drive from Sedona). The Historic Park is a museum that explains the city mining past. You need ~1.5 hr and it closes at 4:45 pm. The ladies that work there were not too accommodating with guests arriving at 4:15, charged the full price, and were after us... More

This State Park is located in the hilltop former mansion of the copper mine owner, James Douglas. There is a video of the mining history and of the town of Jerome. There are displays of mining and local Jerome highlights. You are allowed to tour the entire home and property on your own. Fee is $7 per adult and well... More

My family and I stopped by Jerome while on a family vacation to Arizona and to be quite honest I really did not know much about this town until I watched an episode of Ghost Adventures. We decided to check out Jerome's State Historic park located ~5000+ ft with its spectacular views of the red rocks and the Verde Valley.... More
