We used the Monument as a 5pm must visit,to plan our program for the next day. The road to the building was below par and definitely prevented Lotsa patrons from frequenting it. Another iconic venue with loadsa historical value.
One of the better conference venues you will find. The venue is well run and multifunctional with great spaces including state of the art auditorium, breakout rooms and socialising areas. All set on a hill overlooking picturesque Grahamstown.
The VIEW is Amazing...but! Been visiting Grahamstown for some years, sad to see and from our own experience the monument and around, a blur of trashcan decay.
The staff at the monument is too busy with their personal phones or more interested in chatting away...More
The 1820 settlers monument is large. It overlooks grahamstown and has a tea room and coffee shop for meals and drinks.
The parking lot is large so parking is not an issue unless one is here during the national arts festival.
