We saw dolphins in the first few minutes and went on to see many more, playing alongside the boat. Hundreds of penguins too on the island. Lloyd has an extraordinary passion for conservation. And his knowledge of the sea and all the things under, on top and above is pretty impressive too! Thanks so much for a great morning.

Lloyd and the Raggy Charters team go above and beyond. Their commitment to conservation and passion for the sea is so genuine. Lloyd's wonderful depth of knowledge, friendliness and storytelling took this trip way beyond a standard tourist experience. What a privilege to see dolphins, penguins, gannets and terns and find out more about their behaviour.

Right from the first contact everything was perfect. Courtney was so helpfully and informative in her emails when I was arranging the trip. The weather wasn't the best on the day I went out but this didn't take anything away from the trip, watching penguins and dolphins playing was amazing. I loved hearing about all the conservation work that they... More

Hi Warwick, so glad that you enjoyed the cruise so much. Yes it certainly is a huge privilege to work with the BBC film crews, we have had six of them to date. I'm glad Courtney was so helpful, she is a great member of the team. More

Jamie Edwards and Jake provided us with a day to remember. We left Port Elizabeth harbour and travelled across Algoa Bay to Bird Island and back to harbour during the full day. Jamie and Jake were a constant source of information and found for us Brydes whales, dolphin displays, the like of which we have never experienced before, seals, gannets,... More

Hi Nick, glad you enjoyed your cruise so much. It is not often that we get many South Africans on the cruises, such a pity as it is right here on their doorstep. Also good to see that the two "young" men are working so well together as a team. Although I really miss being out on the water it... More

Fantastic trip with Lloyd Edwards and Raggy Charters. Experienced, knowledgeable and passionate about research, conservation and protection of the wildlife in Algoa Bay. Great time of the year to catch the beginning of the sardine run and associated feeding frenzies. Thank you Lloyd for a memorable trip!

I also still love doing the cruises as well! After 25 years going to sea one would think that it would get boring, but I have yet to have one of those. The sardine run has been very good this year with plenty of bait fish around in the bay. Hopefully this will ensure a successful breeding season for our... More

Outstanding experience! Penguin viewing at its best with informed narrative by Lloyd Edwards, who is passionate about the ecology of the area and deeply immersed in the importance of maintaining this environmental treasure. This half-day boat ride to and from St. Croix island is not just a ride but an educational and visually breathtaking experience that I would strongly recommend... More

Thank you very much Roger, glad your family enjoyed it so much and that your children grow up into environmental activists! Think we were extremely lucky with the Bronze whaler shark on the bait ball. More

My experience with Raggy Charters was phenomenal. Captain Jamie and his firstmate Courtney were super welcoming and went above and beyond to try to give us the best experience possible. They answered all of my thousands of questions about penguins, oil tanks, and a variety of other things that I wanted to know about. Although we didn't get a chance... More

Glad my son and manager are keeping up with the standards set by Raggy Charters over the years, they make a great team. Glad that you were not too fussed about not seeing a whale, there are plenty of other animals around. Sometimes if people do not see whales or dolphins everything else also then seems to be wrong. It... More

What an incredible experience! After a short introduction we went to the sea by a little boat to see as many animals as possible. Although it wasn't the best time of the year to see wales, which usually are around Port elizabeth mainly in winter, we saw two wales which we followed and observed for about twenty minutes. It was... More

Thank you to you and your family for appreciating our special bay so much. It is almost unbelievable to see a school of 400 dolphins, there is just so much energy about. Sometimes people want to move on before our allocated 20 minutes of being with whales, but with dolphins 20 minutes just never seems to be enough! More

Super guides - competent, experienced and passionate about their environment. We had a super morning, grateful for the stunning dolphins in such numbers, bait ball and penguins we saw and just being out there seeing what nature would show. Thank you Jamie and Jake.

When we took a tour with Raggy Charters, we never expected to see as much as we did. Two whales, huge pods of both common and bottle-nose dolphins, penguins, and a sun fish (which is apparently quite rare to see in the Bay.) Both Jamie and Jake were extremely informative and professional.
