What a lovely stop! Sea, sand and flowers - lovely even in the wind and the cold. Take a drive and say you've been there!

Seal point is well worth a visit and allow a few hours. There is a lighthouse that was closed when we were there but I think it is normally open to the public. The nature reserve is worth the time all by it's self.

Love watching the surfing. Walking and collection shells. Wonderful big beaches. A great place to swim in the sea.

It is a bit of a drive out to Seal Point and we were somewhat disappointed that the lighthouse was swathed in scaffolding for repairs (but happy to see the efforts for preservation). But, we had a great time visiting Cape St Francis Penguin Rescue & Rehabilitation Center to watch the African penguins up close and then to clamber along... More

To be fair, the light house is being rebuilt. I am told that there is a seal rescue centre, but it wasn't open when we were there. The view is pretty good from the coast, but what this is crying out for would be a great restaurant or maybe even a bar, overlooking the sea and tastefully avoiding destroying the... More

Too bad the waves were too small but with a bit of swell this right-hand point could make for an epic ride! Great longboarding wave.

From Hout Bay you can take a boat out to the seal colony just along the coast. The scenery is beautiful as you sail out to the ocean, and the ocean was reasonably calm, but the boat did rock a lot so be cautious if not a keen sailor and the ocean is rough. The seals are lovely to see... More

I have surfed here numerous times and its great. The beach is also a good break and is fab for walks and beach combing, lots of shells at the far end away from the light house. One of my favourites spots worldwide is the St Francis Bay area.
