Great surf spot

Too bad the waves were too small but with a bit of swell this right-hand point could make for an epic ride! Great longboarding wave.

From Hout Bay you can take a boat out to the seal colony just along the coast. The scenery is beautiful as you sail out to the ocean, and the ocean was reasonably calm, but the boat did rock a lot so be cautious if not a keen sailor and the ocean is rough. The seals are lovely to see... More

I have surfed here numerous times and its great. The beach is also a good break and is fab for walks and beach combing, lots of shells at the far end away from the light house. One of my favourites spots worldwide is the St Francis Bay area.

The offshore wind and 8ft waves today were absolutely awesome! Great breaks both ways for any amateur or pro surfer... just the rocky entry is tricky and long distance paddling, but the rides can last over a minute! Get stoked and surf at Seal Point, St Frances Bay this season, a really great destination.

Loved it here, the wind was fairly strong with waves crashing over the rocks, we had the whole place to ourselves, very beautiful. Some good bird sightings made it a worthwhile trip.

Spent ages here watching the waves crashing on shore. This is a favourite spot for surfers and we sat in the sun watching some very skillful ones. We walked out to the lighthouse and penguin sanctuary. It was closed for refurbishment but we were still able to see penguins through windows. They look after injured penguins and release them back... More

Worth coming here, for the beautiful lighthouse, the pristine, intact nature and vegetation, the cute penguins at the nursery next to the lighthouse. Not a must see and a bit off the beaten track, but therefore not overrun by tourists and not crowded at all. But nevertheless, definitely worth doing the detour.

We decided to make the drive from Jeffrey's Bay to here to check out the lighthouse and the waterfront. Unfortunately it was a gloomier day but we still enjoyed seeing the water and the lighthouse. We took a quick peek at the penguins but we didn't stay long since it was quite chilly as well. Not a must see spot,... More

The spot around the lighthouse makes a beautiful setting for a sundowner. Look for shells between the rocks or walk along the beach.
