The staff at the museum were not that friendly, they didn't have any written information about anything that was on the wAlls. The gift store was showing a video I wanted but it was not available, store copy only, not good business

We checked the web site and there was no indication the museum was closed for renovation. When we turned up the guard outside said it would open in April - 2 months from now.

As mentioned by other reviewers, note that there is a main museum in Mthatha itself (apparently still closed according to our B&B hostess) and a smaller one in Qunu. We visited (and review) the latter. Two words: disappointing; lackluster. Having finally located the hilltop museum...More

8am til 4pm that is when you find the exhibitors with extra material but after 4pm its empty but u can still go in view pictures and the model prison cell.
