Pilanesberg Safaris and Tours is a dynamic, up-and-coming company specialising in tours and safaris in Pilanesberg National Park since 2007. As a responsible tour operator, we actively boycott all "commercial" predator breeding and petting facilities, believing wildlife should be wild and this is what we will show you! The proximity of this park to the hub of the Gauteng metropolis makes for an ideal safari and wilderness experience in easy reach for a day or few.

Booked whilst in England overnight camping trip. It was brilliant, my son loving the bbq by torch after the sunset safari as much as us. The camping bit was simply awesome and being collected from Jo'burg with all kit on board and the next dropped off so seamlessly all added to ease of trip. The reserve is wonderful, and we... More

We were 5 in a group and 4 were senior citizens. When I sent an email, I requested the lady to please give us a kind and careful driver because I was with senior citizens. We all had fun!!! Andrew (our guide-and-driver) is very smart and I had only good words about him. It's difficult to have 3 countries in... More

Dear VCER Thank you kindly for posting your review and opinion of Pilanesberg Safaris and Tours to TripAdvisor. I am extremely glad that you had such a wonderful day out with Andrew and whilst yes, some reserves in Tanzania are substantially larger, the mixed variety of wildlife, birdlife not to mention wonderful scenery which the Pilanesberg provides, in easy access... I booked a 2-day safari to Pilanesberg NP. I can really recommend this to everyone who visits Johannesburg or Pretoria, with limited time for a safari (like me). Pilanesberg is a beautiful park, large enough to spend several days, full of wildlife/game. Guide Andrew picked me up at my hotel in Johannesburg, drove me to the park, guided me throw... More

Dear Marnixx v Thanks so much for your review! Yes, unfortunately some of the camps are in need of renovations however they are constantly doing this and trying to improve their service. I would aggree that a game walk with Andrew would be a highlight and perhaps makes up for the aging accommodation. We hope you return to see the... More

I like to recommend Pilanesberg National Park tour to anyone spending limited time in Johannesburg, We organized a two-day safari and it was great. My friend is knowledgeable about the wildlife in the park and was able to help us navigate through the park to see almost all animals and birds. We saw a lion eating a Kudu just killed,... More

We arranged a short excursion from Jo'burg to Pilanesberg with an evening game drive on our arrival and a morning drive the next day. This place is tiny compared to Kruger - only 20 km in diameter, which is literally a giant zoo - but we were lucky enough to see both white and black rhinos (a mother and a... More

Dear Hsushangte Thanks for your review. Whilst yes, the Pilanesberg is much smaller than the Kruger (about 400x smaller), game concentrations, particulalry of lion and leopard are equal or higher than Kruger and yet so close to Johannesburg! All of the animals interact in a wild and interact in a natural manner whilst as little as possible human intervention is... More

We joined a private tour with Pilanesberg Safaris and Tours in Mid of September 2016. It was really stunning tour ever! We joined the Morning and Evening Safari Tour. Was told by our friendly guide that if lucky we can see all "The Big Five" in the safari! Unfortunately, we only get to see four of them...and can't meet "Elephant"~... More

I booked a tour from my hotel and needles to say it was the best money I ever spent. You can witness the animals in the wild and if you are lucky you can witness a pride of lions hunt. However, just to keep stupid people on check, these are NOT DOMESTICATED ANIMALS. If you need close ups or selfies... More

Dear Jorge Thanks for taking the time to review as well as your points that the Pilanesbegr is not a zoo and the animals are wild- and many are potentially dangerous. I am sure your guide handled the disgruntled elephant with expertise and that you were able to return to enjoying the beautiful nature and scenery of the Pilanesberg. Many... More

We spent a wonderful day exploring the Pilanesberg National Park. Ryan, our tour guide, was very nice and I was really amazed by his knowledge about birds and wildlife in general. I can only recommend Pilansberg Safaris and Tours.
