Large collection of all things transport. Kids loved it best of all was the collection of climb-on exhibits, it brings everything to life for the kids. Allows busy boys time to stretch their legs while learning something.

It was our first taste of modern/conceptual art by South African artists in South Africa. I only regret that more fiber arts were not on display when we were there.

We went on a quiet Sunday and reserved 2h for the visit after we read up a bit about the place. There is some interesting art in there, esp. the digital art part. Unfortunately I found that for most of the works information and/or context...More

The exhibitions at this art museum plays with your mind in clever ways. The manager is very cool and helpful and gives one a quick overview of the current exhibitions (typically 3 at a time). Contemporary African art, great insights into the history of SA!

A great and easily accessible art museum, which if free to visit, but they do accept donations. I saw the Alfred Thoba exhibition 'a step becomes a statement', which was fantastic. There was a very small collection of books and postcards, and a coffee shop.

Set in Braamfontein just before the Queen Elizabeth and Mandela bridge this gallery is a real gem. Not to mention the coffee shop downstairs and the easy access.

There is no entrance fee to this Art Museum. It is open on weekends too. Parking is in the street. There are other attractions nearby. The art gallery is big enough to support a fair amount of work but don't expect to stay longer than...More
