Luckily someone told us about this place. It's more of a sanctuary than a zoo, but it's really worthwhile. It's relatively small and the animals in its care change so you need to keep an eye out for what is currently there. It's got a nice petting area and jumping castle for kids. Plenty of tables in the shade to... More

The wife and I visited this place in 2013 (please ignore the date selected below) and it was an unplanned trip. We were pleasantly surprised by this place so many animals on display and the young lad with the parrot just made our lunch break even better. We will return the next time we come to South Africa, thanks for... More

This is more of a small animal park than a zoo, which has gone through some upgrades I believe from when I was there last. Variety of animals, some of which you can interact with, such as lizards and rabbits. The staff and volunteers are very informative and hands on, and you will often find them in the cages with... Lory Park Zoo is a well maintained small zoo with a variety of all types of animals. The animals are very well looked after and the park it's self very clean. Lory Park is situated in Midrand and easily accessible from the M1 highway. If your're going over a weekend try and get there just after 1:00 pm so you... More

Lory Park is a small zoo, but it is nice. The kids have enjoyed the times we have been. Much closer to home than JHB zoo or PTA zoo. Also they don't get as tired walking because it is much smaller. The park does need to work on the road coming in. It is a dirt road and very badly... More

We visited Lory Park Zoo which my grand son that was 3 and a friend of 5years old. We had a magic day out with them. The animals are very well kept and were all in good condition. You can purchase some drinks and eats from the food stall. There is a picnic area and some kids were having birthday... More

What a nice place! We've been there only one for now but our 2 year old daughter even now talks about the experiences there. We were able to enter the owl cage, let them land on your arms, feed rabbits and just spending a wonderful Sunday there.

I was a tad skeptical at first, I don't generally go due to the smells etc... but to my suprise, I was so well maintained , the animals literally could have been smilingat us they looked... More

This is a magnificent mini zoo, there is a variety of animals and reptiles, the views were extremely amazing due to the close proximity, the feeding is a must see-very informative. You can also interact with the cubs at a moderate fee. A great family outing.
