These gardens are a great showpiece of natural flora common to this country, tranquil and beautiful.

We visited the Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens on the 21 September 2020. We arrived at exactly 09:00 am and spent the entire day there enjoying nature. We brought our own lunch and drinks, as we have special dietary requirements. However, there is a restaurant within the garden where food and drinks can be purchased. There are clean ablution facilities within the garden. It was an extremely serene and peaceful experience walking the various trails. On our next trip to Cape Town, we will definitely put aside an entire day to visit this botanical garden.

…What an amazing place to visit as we decided to go on the Sunday afternoon after Boxing Day and we were surprised to see how many people decided to do the same considering that the price per adults is R 75.00 per head, only on Tuesdays they allow pensioner to enter for free. Literal-lii there was thousands of visitors but the gardens are so enormous that it just absorbed everyone without making it overcrowded. So it was and is very safe, at the main-gate each visitor’s temperature is check and you have to wear a mask before you can gain entree. There is a few places to eat at like the Tea-Garden, Fynkos restaurant, Moyo restaurant. There is also a biggish Bookshop that sells different goods even post-cards. The variety of flora is unbelievable the kaleidoscope of colours to be encountered in one place is just so awesome. This place is superb-lii managed and maintained everything is lashes-lii green and the rolling lawns are true-lii beautiful, everywhere there were people who brought their picnic baskets and where just having the time of their lives. We stopped off at Fynkos but only to purchase some ice cream. Which was real-lii delicious. Many places of interest can be accessed from inside this park like Skeleton-Gorge on Table Mountain the New-lands Forest and even Rhodes Memorial. But just make sure you have your comfy shoes on or you’ll land up with very sore-feet. The many Information boards posted around the park in the flower-beds is real-lii a very cool way of distributing the necessary information and is so educational. One of the high-lights of our visit here was “The Tree Canopy Walkway” its the wobbly walkway suspended in the air and winds just like the “Boom-Slang” as its nicknamed. There are many stone sculptures place in various sections of the park and I believe that they can be purchased. There is a large stage where various music concerts and film shows are held from time to time and the massive outstretched lawns serves as the seating or standing place in an amphitheater. …..

We took our family visitors for a picnic in Kirstenbosch. So peaceful even though you are in a major city. Plenty of lovely spots to picnic, and lots to see. But mostly a peaceful experience at a ver reasonable cost

This must be one of the most beautiful garden's in the world. The grounds are well maintained and very easy to walk. Great places for picnics. Two great restaurants. The views are spectacular.
