Stunning - even in the rain!
This are the most beautiful gardens set against the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain. There are several different areas such as the rock garden, the heather garden, the arboretum and even the tree top walkway which is highly recommended. Take your camera and a picnic - although there is a lovely tea room with great food. We went on a very rainy day and still enjoyed it. On Sundays, there are even concerts in the evening to be enjoyed here. Definitely recommend and would come back.

A relaxing excursion from Cape Town City centre
Surprisingly gorgeous and relaxing experience. Well worth a visit. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town. Well maintained and a huge amount of information about the plants provided throughout the park.

    Amazing atmosphere
Well , i visited Kirstenbosch in 2017 October. This is a great place to be. It is on the outskirts of Table Mountain. You should better reach there by car , you don’t need to wear anything special , just whatever. You will enjoy the view.

    Beautiful Gardens
Visited via the hop on hop off bus which is an easy way to get to the gardens. Took one of the guided walks which helped bring to life the gardens and all the plants and different areas. We visit such gardens all round the world but none have the stunning backdrop that these have- so beautiful Thoroughly enjoyable few hours .

    Concerts in Capetown
The views were spectacular. Perfect for individuals who love picnics and nature. You need to bring your own food, beverages and blankets because they do not sell anything the venue. The concert was well organized, the staff very helpful and the sound was just perfect. Go there early to secure a spot as the place gets really full. I danced the night away. Concert ended at 22:00. NB! No smoking at the venue.

    Well worth a visit
Excellent gardens well worth a visit if you are in Cape Town. Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain you can happily spend a few hours wandering around here. We were given a picnic lunch to take in, but there is a cafe should you prefer that. The pathways are reasonably wheelchair accessable as is the conservatory at the end. There is a shop with some lovely botanical themed items for sale as you exit.

    Stunning gardens
We arrived here around 10am. The sun was shining and it was really beautiful. The gardens are at the foot of Table Mountain with glorious views. They are beautifully cared for and it was a treat to walk around them. We had lunch in the restaurant. A varied menu and very pleasant.

    Gorgeous views. Worth a visit!
This place is BEAUTIFUL! We only had 45 minutes here and we wish we had planned for more time. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the views, given I am not normally into gardens. So many lovely plants, incredible landscaping, canopies, and gorgeous views. Many cool displays. Give yourself a few hours and get lost in beauty.

    Awesome
Beautiful gardens. Amazing scenery. We visited on a day which had a few showers but was mostly sunny. At one point we could see the rain in the mountains while it was dry where we were stood. It looked amazing. was such a great experience - like being in a planet earth documentary!

It was lovely to visit the gardens again with our UK visitors but very sad to see that the standard of care in the garden had dropped - there were weeds and overgrown beds in lots of places and a general air of neglect..That said there there are some truly magnificent trees in the garden and the “boomslang “ treetop walk gives you some great views. It still a very peaceful place to spend time walking through or having a picnic there.

Beautiful place to visit, much larger than we imagined. You can stroll around well made paths for several hours taking in all the wonderful plants, birds and views across Cape Town. Plenty of parking, good coffee in the cafe. Would definitely visit again as there is so much to see. Interesting walkway through the tree canopy. Lots of nice shaded places to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

It was very interesting and I enjoyed my time spent there. Plenty of space and relaxing. Very disappointed in the pricing. The tourist rate was over twice the rate for South African citizens unless you had some SA ID and nothing for pensioners. That sort of distrimination would never happen where i come from.....

Very beautiful and the guided visit (free) was very important. It is 90 minutes but there is a lot information and curiosities. Loved it.

Certainly one of the best and largest botanical gardens in the world! The incredible amount of exhibits and plants is just marvellous! We spent nearly an entire day there and I am sure we didn't see everything. A must go if you are in Cape Town.

We took a taxi from our hotel to these gardens and spent 4 hours there. They are stunning, and some of the boundaries are open and blend into the foothills of Table Mountain. We were blessed with beautiful weather and mid-October was an excellent time of year to visit. We ended up taking hundreds of photos.
There are good restaurants and a nice souvenir shop too.

Poor experience, the gardens albeit situated in great setting we found poorly maintained and a lot of the trees, flowers and shrubbery was poorly maintained. We also had to put up with a lot of band music as thete was a festival/concert on during our visit that we were not informed about, reception said they would pass on our complaint for a refund but nothing heard, typical! I personally would never visit again, RIP off

It's beautiful but nobody mentioned that it is at the base of the mountains and therefore.mountainous vertical climbing, everywhere. Although beautiful it is almost impossible for anyone not able bodied to get around, and it is way over priced, in fact we have never paid do much for entry to a garden and to rub it in foreigners pay over double what locals do. I am not able bodies so only got 1 hour including a coffee, certainly not worth it as there was no way to get around

Heaven. This is what I thought all the hours we walked the grounds, and marveled at plants, flowers, the mountains, the way the sun came and went, the insects, the birds and many many sounds. We've been in endless beautiful gardens all over the world, but something about this place, as you climb closer and closer to the mountain seems beyond all. Simply magnificent.
