A very cool destination on Route 66

It is just a small old gas station with a mini museum and gift shop, but a must stop if you are driving through on Route 66. The woman at the counter (and her dog) were super friendly and gave us some good tips about the area and destinations on 66. A lot of the items in the gift shop... More

Move along people nothing to see here. Just an old gas station. The trip getting here is the main attraction and going towards Oatman are some sharp turns and beautiful views.

This landmark has been completely renovated and looks great! Like stepping back in time. It now sells Route 66 souvenirs and has a great little museum in the back room. Definitely stop here and support their efforts to keep this landmark alive. Cash only!!

The mascot dog was cute too! Loved all of the old gas cans, some with gun shots in them. The movie Universal Soldier was filmed there which messed up the place however it has been lovingly restored. We were particularly amused by the port-a-potty "official" restroom outside! It's worth a stop!

We spent about 30-40 minutes here after visiting Oatman. The station has been lovingly restored and the guy in the shop (apologies I don't remember his name) took the time to tell us about the history of the building which was fascinating. There's a lot of interesting historic stuff to look at and bits and pieces for sale. The building... More

This is a faithfully restored stop on Route 66. We stopped on our way from Oatman to the Grand Canyon. At first, we just took pictures on the outside. However, we did go in and are glad we did. The proprietor provided interesting historical background (including its role in the movie Cars) and we bought a Route 66 root beer.... More

I was advised by a friend to make sure to stop here on our trip. Mid summer and very hot so from Oatman it was a good ride and to have a cold drink. Make sure to allow some time to browse through the mini museum at the back of the store. Some interesting and historic items to be seen.... More

On our way from Vegas to home we detoured to Oatman, one: for the scenic route, two: for the Burro's :) I saw this place on the right on my way up. There was a van and two more vehicles with people doing the same thing, stopping for a photo. I personally, did not go in, I just wanted the... More

This was a fun stop while we traveled Route 66. The small gift shop has beautiful handmade jewelry and great old items collected because of their historical interest, especially those associated with Route 66. Please have cash ready because the store does not have reliable internet service for credit cards.

Let's face it, the only reason you'd be this far off the beaten path is because you're going to or from Oatman and if you liked Oatman, you'll like Cool Springs Station. It's right on the route so take a few extra minutes and stop. At the very least you'll learn some very interesting history about this place.
