A relaxing place to walk especially with babies & toddlers who can run around in a safe place - there are also good play areas - one next to the excellent Blue Zoo restaurant often has a friendly Child Minder on hand ...

Mitchell Park is as its always been a bit run down I suppose its due to lack of funding. I was a bit disappointed today to see that the flamingos are now gone. Its fine for small children but once you have been you don't need to go back for a long time.

This amazing venue has it all, for the tiny entrance fee they ask the kids have a ball, animals, wide open spaces, play park and we have attended many birthday parties here- we go at least once every 2 months - it is a must

For a small fee you get entrance into what is a mini zoo. They have some really interesting and rare animals. There are lots of different birds, monkeys and various other types of animals as well. Kids would love this place. It is also a nice park where you can spend the day having a picnic and just relaxing with... More

Going back to the park after 20 years and you are taken back to the 80s. not much has change expect the trees that I used to climb as a child are now taller.

Our entrance took us pass the Blue Zoo Restaurant and we were thrilled to see how busy it was. The entrance price to the animal section is so affordable, the lawns are clean and well worth it to pack your own picnic basket, blanket and chairs to sit under the huge green trees providing lovely shade. A good walk around... More

Fun day out with a lovely range of animals, birds and reptiles to see. Lots of shade and you can even picnic inside. Some areas need maintenance and the monkeys can be a real pain, so watch out for their stealing ways! But at less than R10 to get in, this place is a great 2-4 hour trip for families.... More

Went to Mitchell Park after a long time and found it to still be beautiful, restful and lovely. There is a nice busy restaurant, Blue Zoo that serves delicious snacks and light meals. the grounds are beautifully kept, but did notice that the little pond did not have water in it. There is a small zoo which will delight little... More

For only R11 a person, it is really cheap for what you get. A variety of small mammals and birds that look well taken care of. Its a great park to visit when you have an hour or so free. The highlight for me was seeing the alpaca.

The Zoo area was piled with rubbish everywhere. Birds dropping all over. Sick animals unattended to.There was a dead Blue Duiker decomposing with hundreds of flies around it whilst disturbed kids watched helplessly. The eating area at the park had filth all over with thousands of flies, not a cleaner in sight. The park grass was long and not maintained.... More
