Bonamanzi is 2.5 hrs drive North of King Shaka Airport. Main Activities are game viewing, camping, accommodation and volunteering work. This venue caters for a variety of events - meetings, conferences weddings. The Game Drives in morning and evening are worthwhile pursuits. The Rangers are knowledgeable and passionate about conservation. The Live4Now volunteer program based here does some great outreach... More

My daughter had her wedding at Bonamanzi over the weekend. We had 70 guests from all over the world who stayed in very comfortable cottages for 3 nights. All the rooms have air conditioners which is necessary in summer. The wedding was perfect. The staff were exceptional and the food delicious. We went for early morning game drives. Watched crocodiles... More

We were staying at Bonamanzi for a wedding held in the grounds and we were totally bowled overbuy it! Our rondavel overlooked the lake and viewing platform and was very close to the main restaurant and bar which was very convenient. Immaculately clean as well as comfortable, we loved the accommodation and the view over the lake from out bed... More

Whilst holidaying at Bonamanzi Game Reserve as a group of 4 women, our car was damaged to such an extent that it needed repairs before it could be driven. The team at Bonamanzi immediately sprang to our aid - towing our vehicle back to their property; having the repairs taken care of by their in-house mechanic; having their rangers lift... More

Aside from being a game reserve in itself, Bonamanzi is a great base to explore northern KwaZulu Natal. The camp is nicely laid out, clean, and well maintained. Nyala and Warthog roam the well kept lawns. But for me Bonamanzi's bird life is its main attraction. For birders wanting to view or photograph a wide variety of birds, Bonamanzi is... More

Camped for 2 nights at campsite number 4. Busy Easter weekend & we were grateful to get space at the last minute. Camp site was peaceful, power plug access for a portable camping fridge & good ablutions. Plenty hot water but shower head a bit high, really not a major problem though. Excellent birding. Did not do any excursions. Would... More

We had a thoroughly enjoyable family holiday to Dinizulu Camp in the early part of this year. The camp itself is set a few kilometers further into the reserve past the main Bonamanzi camp and reception which guarantees absolute privacy and the feeling of being the only ones in the reserve which is fantastic. The accommodation comprises 3/4 very comfortable... More

My husband and I stayed at bonamanzi for the week-end. The service was outstanding, the staff very friendly and seemed very qualified. We stayed in one of the lovely Lalapanzi units, everything was comfortable and very easy to use. The restaurant's food was great, good quantities and plenty of flavours. We had the chance to go for a "bush braai"... More

I have been there several times and have never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is average and usually a buffet style dinner with a good choice of different meals. The game drives in their own reserve don't have lions. We did a very nice boat trip on the river. Hluhluwe Game Reserve is very... More
