Great for browsing with kids and family. Interesting displays and lots of information. Spend at least half a day browsing the exhibits.

Always been a perfect place to take the kids on a rainy day. So much to see and explore. Great displays and info for young and old. Don't pop in if you don't have a couple of hours to spare.

The museum has a broad range of displays - something for everyone of every age to enjoy. There are also some participatory displays which the kids had great fun in emersing themselves in. definitely need to spend a good couple of hours here!

Perfect for little kids and tweens. Lots of animals, including the big 5, exposure to All south African cultures (Zulu, Hinduism, Islam, European influence etc) tribal art and music ... a true south Africa experience !!

A fun night out for our family. There was a fair variety of activities for children and adults.New activities linking the museum's content to the current lifestyle trends and interests of children. The support staff were excellent. Could do with a nice coffee shop, but...More

Inexpensive to visit. The museum has many different exhibits on different items including life size animals, historical houses of the city, history of the city.

Taxi cabs appear to be relatively reliable. Companies such as Chedies and Metro Cabs are probably the best.Minibus taxis are not safe though.

Parking is a problem in the upper Jabu Ndlovu Str (old Loop Str). You could try the Imperial Hotel (used to be Protea Imperial until recently) across from the Museum. They may assist for a fee. Roadside parking is available... More
