It is very difficult to appreciate the depth of the canyon because there is nothing in the bottom from which to judge the distance but it is fantastic! The scenery is really 360 degrees and my photos do not do it justice.

Blyde River Canyon is a must see attraction when you visit South Africa. On a clear summer day it is on its best, offering magnificent views of the Blyde River and the famous Three Rondavels. Years ago it was still possible to climb to the very edge of the gorge but this is not possible any more since fences have... More

After having completed the rest of the panorama route this was our last stop. Having driven through clouds and rain we came to the top and found ourselves a beautiful sunny day. The view of the Three Rondawels was the highlight of the day. Moving across the mountain and seeing how the Blyde River cuts through the mountain passes was... More

This is a popular spectacle within the "Panorama Route" and larger nature reserve. Unfortunately it is also very crowded! It seemed that access to the truly magnificent views was limited causing some congestion for those wishing to take photographs. The paths to the viewing points were well worn and quite dangerous and should not be attempted by anyone with serious... More

Wow, what a view. A must see when in the Mpunalanga area. Take some time out and reflect in this peaceful spot. You will feel close to the big fella!

Absolutely amazing view of the canyon! There are two pathways to the edge of a sheer drop! Pathways are little rough, but could be accessible by a disabled person.

This should be a mandatory stop in your way to Kruger if you are driving. This is a breathtaking landscape.

What a place! Truly, I don't know how I only discovered the Blyde river canyon this year. Must have been living in a cave all this time. The views of this place are out of this world. Rock pools along the hiking roots are beautiful. The boat trip was interesting and also had some exquisite views. Overall, a great experience... More
