Visited Pilanesberg Game Reserve from Sun City and saw two elephant herds and two lone bull elephants, rhino, lion as well as giraffe, zebra, impala, wildebeest and various other animals. Tarred roads are very potholed but gravel roads are generally OK.

Nice game drive park with affordable prices. We managed to spot the big 4 (we missed the buffaloes). Safe picnic areas and coffee shop. Recommend to have a map from the park.

Pros. We've been visiting game park for a few years and with the love of nature in out bones we visited Pilansberg again last weekend (18 - 21 March) . The bush looks incredibly "healthy" with long grass and lush undergrowth after the rains. Lots and lots of water. We saw a huge variety of animals. Staff at gates were... More

The roads in the Pilanesburg National Park are nothing short of atrocious. The dirt roads are better than the tarred roads for the simple reason that on the tarred roads you're dodging massive potholes every few metres. Overall the park really needs a bit of refreshing and updating. Feels a bit stuck in the 80s (which is probably when last... More

We travelled on a group golfing tour and we were the only couple to take this experience. So lucky! We took a sunset tour guided by a park ranger. We saw so many animals up close - hippos, rhinoceros, zebra, elephants, cobras etc etc. The highlight was an extended viewing of two lion cubs playing under a tree very close... More

After looking very dry with almost no grass and few tree leaves in December the subsequent downpours have filled the dams to overflowing and the vegetation has recovered fully. What a beautiful sight to be grateful for. Despite the growth we were still able to see the wildlife including several Rhino and a big herd of Elephants. Antelope numbers are... More

The reserve, only a couple of hours from Johannesburg, is a must visit. A wide variety of game in very diverse topography. Good Elephant and Rhino sightings. Unfortunately the tarred roads have deteriorated with some large pot-holes.

It is a very complete malaria free National Park! We could see elephants, lions, hippos, rhinos, zebras, among others.

If you admire nature this is the place to visit , watch nature as it enjoys its free and wild life . Picture those long last days when we were also free to hunt and protect our loved ones , you can reminisce by visiting the park
